Everybody is throwing a party today! Rhoda is having a Burlap Par-tay. I have to admit I only have burlap in my home because she inspired me to do so.
Sometimes you just need something a little softer. My tile-top dining table is very practical, but just not very pretty next to the soft, plush upholstered chairs. Since I am a huge fan of juxtaposition, I knew this was the perfect place to introduce the tattered texture of burlap. I layered it over a sheer damask, straight off the $1 rack at Walmart, to add more interest.
I can't wait to see how everyone else uses burlap to beautify their nests!

Several years ago, I used a length of burlap as a runner on the coffee table. It has been replaced now by grandchildren. Apparently, the coffee table is perfect for laying on one's belly and spinning. (My husband thought I was nuts at the time.)
ReplyDeleteGreat! What cool fabrics!
