Craigslist steal

Welcome to Transformation Thursday! It's the one day a week we all join together to celebrate actually getting something done.

Five hours of driving (round trip) and $100 garnered us this shabbilicious sofa. The previous owner tried washing one of the covers in the washing machine. Bad idea. But it made for a great deal for me.

I've said before that paint can fix anything, and painter's drop clothes are very close cousins.

The canvas seat breaks up the busy pattern and makes it much more relaxed and comfortable. I originally intended to cover the whole piece, but the pattern was just too pretty to resist.

Share your transformations by adding your permalink into MckLinky (let's hope he's working). Please make sure to link back here so everyone can join in on the fun & inspiration.

  29. I've been thinking about your couch for awhile... I know strange huh~ Anywho, I like what you've done with it... but you know, you could take your two existing pillows and take the backside/underside fabric off of them using a seam ripper and use the fabric to replace the missing fabric on the third pillow and then just place a matching fabric on the underside of each pillow-- or you could flip them over to show off the coodinating fabric. I know, I know...I overthink things to much, I've got way to much free time on my hands lol :-P

  30. Really this is too tacky...it looks like you just tucked the drop cloth over the cushioins which also show through in the picture. Sorry but this needs a real makeover not fake one which would just get so messed up if someone actually sat on it.Nice try though.:)

  31. Actually it's all properly sewn together and we have used it for weeks now without it coming undone at all. The canvas is quite durable and is a great solution for a household with pets and kids. Thanks for your advice, though!
