something for the mister

Welcome once again to Transformation Thursday! It's the one day a week we all get together to celebrate getting stuff done. No matter if this is your first time, or you've been here for months - whether your project is big or small - everything is worth celebrating. Join in with the Linky below.
As women, we love to fluff our nests and make them pretty. Sometimes we forget the men in the home. It's easy to do. We cook. We clean. We decorate. They do the heavy lifting :) Between our kitchen and dining room is this tiny little spot of wall, between where the cabinet ends and the French door begins.
Vintage auto tags were the perfect fit! I love to use quirky things as art - it adds so much more than a framed piece of mass produced art does. I'm not quite sure where these came from - I found them in our barn, just scrubbed them and up on the wall they went. I topped them off with a small barn star, found at Old Time Pottery last fall.

I wonder if Mr. SCC will even notice.....

Soooo.... whatcha got? I wanna see and so does everybody else. Just put your permalink to the exact post into the thumbnail linky below, link back here so everyone can find the great tips & ideas, then visit at least the person above and below you so that everyone gets some visitors.
Welll.... Let'er rip, tater chip!

  4. I love your comment about wondering if the Mr. will even notice. A friend and I are always sharing stories about how long it takes our Mr.'s to notice some things. LOL! Thanks for hosting such a fun party!

  5. ::chuckle:: You'll have to be sure to report back whether your hubby notices that you've done some decorating with him in mind. I'm sure my Mr. probably wouldn't unless it was something to do with the TV or refrigerator. ;)

Thanks for the opportunity to participate in TT this week.

  6. Ah, Gina, this takes me back! I remember when the Tennessee license plates looked like that. . . I always liked the way the silhouette of the state surrounded the "TENN" at the top. (Have I ever told you that I'm a native Tennessean?)

I like this little masculine touch! The plates look great with the star. Way to go!

  7. Those license plates are so cool! In a few weeks, we are heading down to "go thru" my FIL's barns, as he has sold the farm and moved to the city. I'm SOOO looking for some of those.
Thanks for sharing your idea and for hosting!

  19. What??!! You think the Mister doesn't NOTICE things? Why..I just can't imagine that!

I once made a huge heart with magnetic letters on my fridge that said I LOVE MY HUBBY for him to read while I was away on a trip with a teenager.

When he finally discovered it, he said it scared him to death! He thought someone had gotten into the house! (It only took him four days to notice.) :o)

I so agree with you that our decor needs to reflect our hubbies presence and taste as well as our own. That's why our bedroom is full of dark wood and bold deep colors. It looks like an English library. :o) He's into classical music, literature and art and that's one of his favorite rooms.

    Great post Gina!
