Welcome once again to Transformation Thursday! It's the one day of the week we all get together to celebrate getting stuff done. No matter if you've been coming around for quite a while or this is your first time, everyone is welcome to share their projects, big or small. Just link up at the bottom of this post.
It’s been a big, big week around here so far – between the Silhouette Giveaway and the Etsy folks highlighting me on their blog. And next week is gonna be the same way, so I thought I’d keep everything in balance by making this Transformation Thursday quick and simple. I bought these letters at HobLob a few weeks ago, on sale for $5 each. They’re amazing, but I’m not quite into the gold. But you know we can fix that.
Add a little silver rub and buff
Not quite there yet
Add a little black
Just a dab will do, rubbing it in will give it a little more age appeal.
Then presto-chango in mere minutes I’m loving it. Flecks of gold show here and there, but I’m ok with that. All things are good in moderation!
Soooo.... whatcha got? I wanna see and so does everybody else! Just put your PERMALINK into the linky, and please link back here so everyone can find the great ideas. DO NOT link to an Etsy shop, online store or other selling venue. Be sure to say hi to your neighbors - it is a party after all. If you are new this week, please leave a comment letting me know!
Well.... Let'er rip, tater chip!

love the letters.

ReplyDeleteI love the letters. THanks for hosting agan this week.
ReplyDeleteI have contemplated getting those letters many times at Hobby Lobby...but the gold color has stopped me and the fact that I need so many to spell out the word I want to spell. I love silver though...and this is tempting...I might go ahead and get them next time I'm there.
ReplyDeleteThe letters look great! Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteI have those letters spelling out Noel at Christmas, spray painted mine with a metallic red, so pretty. Rub n buff is one of my favorite products. I haven't ever see the black tho. Have you used the blue patina color? Check out my blog and look at the little ball on the mantel, it's really cool stuff!http://ms-smartie-pants.blogspot.com/2011/01/new-home-welcome.html Stop by for the giveaway too!

ReplyDeleteI love letters! I cut a "D" out of wood for my daughter's room, painted it black and white in a soccer ball pattern and then cut her jersey # out of wood and dangled it from the D with beads and ribbons! Would have made them to sell because I loved it... but it took forever! Also love decoupaging letters with photos!
I'd love to have a neighbor like you!!
