Furniture Fairytale

Once upon a time, in a mystical place far, far away was a magical land called Pottery Barn Furniture Outlet. The legends of fairy tale deals was admired by all that heard of their spectacular prices. One day, not so long ago, a couple embarked upon a journey to this mystical land. Arriving to the store after a long travel, their dreams of bargain furniture became a reality….Pottery_barnAbecause this store rocks! Seriously, my friends – it was like stepping into a fabulous mixture of Ikea prices with style and quality of Pottery Barn. Does it get any better than that?IMG_8073 Our sofa shopping adventures came to an end when we found this beauty: A $1089 sofa for $419. That was not a typo. We saved a whopping $670 on the most comfortable and beautiful sofa I’ve ever sat on. I am absolutely in love! The only draw back was that it did not come pre-slipcovered. That’s ok, though. Since I’ve purchased the amazing ebook The Lazy Girl’s Guide to Custom Slipcovers by my friend Kristi, I know I can do one myself. I’m not in a big hurry, though, since I love the Stone fabric that it’s upholstered in.

Isn’t she a beaut? It’s the Buchanan sofa, and it makes me smile every time I have to walk in the room :)IMG_8021 The reason for the deep discount? It had a small stain on the arm, which I removed with a little upholstery cleaner – an easy task for such a big discount!

Driving 3 hours each way may sound crazy, but that driving time saved me $100 per hour, even after you factor in the gas – PLUS I didn’t have to wait 6-14 weeks. Sweet! Talk about instant gratification…

  12. I LOVE (can't say it any louder) PB outlet! There is one 1 hour from us and I'm hoping they will put one at a closer outlet that is only 30 minutes away. I haven't been there all winter but once this weather calms down, I'm there!

Oh, and by the way, if you need some fantastic discount upholstery fabric I know of this great store called Home Fabrics and Rugs that has a fantastic selection for majorly discounted prices. They also have an online store if there isn't one close to you. Its http://homefabricsonline.com/. Just thought you might need it to make the slipcover. :) Anyway, great site! I love it!
