beach cottage colors

Beach cottage Decor Inspiration is a funny thing. You just never know where you’re going to find it. It’s no secret that aqua and ocean tone blues are my favorite colors for decorating. So when I found this beautiful aqua infused shell last year at Scott’s Antique Market, I couldn’t resist it. Look at those colors. Aqua Seashell Dark peacock blue/greens play along side tans, browns, light hues of aqua, with shadows of white. My love of a sea inspired color palette can fit into my hand. Wall colors, accent colors, trim colors, wood tones… all in one place. Beach cottage yumminess… the stuff my decorating dreams are made of.

Where do you find your inspiration?

  1. Me? Your blog! :) LOL! :)

  2. I love fabric,it is great for inspiration. Of course blogs like yours and magazines!

  3. OH MY I love that shell…. you should put that photo in your Etsy shop. LOVE IT.

  4. I totally agree!

  5. I chose my bathroom tile colors based on an abalone shell and my husband calls my paint choices my “undersea world” because I gravitate toward blues and greens! I think looking out the window is the best inspiration for color.

  6. Ooo ooo, how my heart beats for naturals. Burlaps, linens, you name it! Of course with a splash of red!

  7. I can find inspiration just about anywhere: a movie, a book, a color, nature…just whatever seems to speak to me at the time.

  8. Everywhere colors abounds….nature, fabric stores, magazines & blogs, paint samples at paint stores, color-combo generators, etc. I love getting lost in colors.

  9. I know exactly what you mean. For me it was glass bowls with seashell trim and etched glass votive holders that led me to completely change the decor in my bedroom. We never know where inspiration will come from.

I love the colors in your kitchen!! What a beauty!I am planning to paint my kitchen cabinets white, but am having trouble choosing the right shade of white. Would love to know the color paint and brand you used for your kitchen cabinets. Look like a warm white from the photo, but hard to tell. Thanks for your time and for sharing your lovely project!
