Welcome once again to Transformation Thursday! It's the one day of the week we all get together to celebrate getting stuff done. No matter if you've been coming around for quite a while or this is your first time, everyone is welcome to share their projects, big or small. Just link up at the bottom of this post.
Rooms are never really “done” around here. Like nevah-evah. And that’s ok – I like tinkering with my home. Remember those ruffled curtains? Even though I love them, they’re just a tad too girly for Mr. SCC – and I can understand that. He does live with a house full of girls. Silly, giggly, girls. He let me have my ruffles, even though they weren’t really his “thing.”
I do the decorating around here – he’ll tell you that. He is such a sweet fella that he builds whatever pops into my little head and then moves on to the next project. This time, the project I had in mind was a compromise without him even knowing it :)
After the bloggy breakfast and Goodwill trip, ChaCha and I, with husbands in tow (well, they were the drivers), went to the ReStore. I bought a shutter for $4 – and wasn’t even sure what I would do with it at the time. When I got home I wondered if it would fit our bathroom window – and guess what? It did!
Mr. SCC added a little frame to the window trim, to pull the shutter out from the window so that the louvers would open and close, then used a couple of hinges to put it up with. Luckily I had some pre-painted pieces that were left over from the bathroom, so I didn’t even have to break out the brush!
It may not be as girly, but it definitely sings to my cottage loving heart!
OH! Before you run off, make sure to enter the $50 DaySpring Giveaway!
Soooo.... whatcha got? I wanna see and so does everybody else! Just put your PERMALINK into the linky, and please link back here so everyone can find the great ideas. PRETTY PRETTY PLEASE DO NOT link to an Etsy shop, online store or other selling venue. Be sure to say hi to your neighbors - it is a party after all.

The shutter looks great!! How awesome is that that it fit! Thankfully my hubby lets me do all the decorating too. I don't know what I would do if he were one of those guys that had to be involved in the decor in the house!

The shutter looks so clean and bright and airy in there, Gina! I loved the ruffles, too (what girly-girl wouldn't???), but the shutter is very beachy looking! Nice work!

I'm like you, my husband doesnt really like girly things and sometimes says NO whenever I propose something to add to my house, at least your husband is helping you eventhough it's not his thing! lucky!! sometimes I just did it without his consent and he just have to put up with me hahaha...Thanks for sharing and hosting the great event! x

I like the idea of attaching the shutter to a frame! I had several sets of shutters, but I made them into display shelves. Maybe I'll remember to share them next week on Transformation Thursday! :)
