Annie Sloan Chalk Paint project & giveaway!

TT button BLUE Welcome to Transformation Thursday! It’s the one day of the week we all get together to celebrate getting stuff done. No matter if you’ve been coming around for months (or years), or this is your very first transformation rodeo – everyone is welcome to link up your projects at the bottom of this post.

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint A few days ago I received an email from Tammy at Periwinkle Pass asking me if I’d be interested in giving away some Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. Ummm… yeah! I was so, so excited when she offered to let me review it, too – yeeehaw! I’ve been wanting to try it for quite a while now, but wasn’t really sure if it was up to all the hype. I’m here to tell ya – it is flippin’ amazing! Dining Chair I found a chair at Goodwill for $15 and knew all it needed was a little lovin’.

shabby chic chair leg According to the paint directions, I didn’t need to sand or prime or anything. I wiped down the legs and painted them with two coats in Paris Grey. I’d read over and over that it only takes a little paint, and I don’t think I used quite enough the first time around, but even after two coats it took an amazingly small amount to paint the chair.

painted furniture Chalk Paint dries amazingly fast! By the time I got to the last leg, the first one was already dry. Like faster than spray paint fast. Very, very cool for an impatient girl like me :)

IMG_0782 Although you can leave the paint matte, I personally like it better with a waxed finish. It was super easy to sand off the spots for some shabby love… ahhh! Using the soft wax and brush, it’s like a magic wand that brings out the color and makes the paint look even more amazing.

shabby furniture Awww yeah, babe!

shabby french chair I made a flirty little slip cover and she’s right at home in the guest house.

So the million dollar question is – would I buy it? YES! I received 2 colors to review, and have 2 more colors that are on my shopping list. I love the texture – love how easy it is to use – and I love that it cleans up with water (I don’t do oil based paints).

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint And the million and one dollar question – Wanna win some? Yep, Tammy is giving one lucky reader 2 quarts of your choice, plus a tin of wax and a brush (sorry, US only). That’s a $175 value!
