Junk Bonanza

IMG_2161 When I found out Junk Bonanza was the same weekend as The Creative Connection, I knew we’d have to sneak off and take a peek. There were some amazing sights to see, so I’m glad I took a couple of hours early Saturday morning to check out all the good junk. I thought I’d share a few of the booths that we saw, and the wonderful folks we met.

IMG_2172 I guess I need to confess right up front and say that this lovely lady was a sweetheart – but I lost her card, so I can’t remember her name. I musta met like 500 folks in the last week or so… and keeping them straight was all a matter of business card shuffling. She was the first vendor we met, and was so friendly – and her booth was beautiful (even if it was almost picked clean!)

IMG_2174 She had this gorgeous old wooden bathtub that had been painted to look like a koi pond. With a piece of glass on top, it would make a stunning statement as a coffee table (but not really practical for a house with lots o’ kiddos). Do you see the glove molds? They caught my eye, too :)

IMG_2179 Next we met Stacey at Ramshackled Treasures. She was an aqua lovin’ girl, too – so you know that caught my eye and my heart…

IMG_2177 Flowers, windows, chippiness & aqua… soooo much aqua :)

IMG_2182 After walking around a bit, I found a couple of funny, sweet ladies, who were two of the 4 French Hens. (Oddly enough, my booth here in TN is just across the street from a shop called 3 French Hens!)

IMG_2180 Isn’t this pillow the cutest thing you’ve ever seen? All the words are hand stamped and it is even cuter in person. Love the quirkiness of it… and I’m loving the red pom-pom fringe, too! So flippin’ adorable!

IMG_2183 I musta spent about forever and a half in their little booth oohing and ahhing over everything, and chatting with the two of them.

IMG_2185 Even their aprons were adorable :) Sally (the blonde lady) will be listing aprons similar to these in her Etsy shop soon… I may need a Shabby Creek version for when I do shows!

IMG_2196 Have you ever been to a show, and way off in the distance you saw a booth that made you swoon… and the closer you got, the more you loved it? One of those spaces that made you want to pack up every little piece and take it home? Yeah, that’s how I felt when I saw Lori’s booth. Round Barn Potting Company is all frenchy & farmy & vintagey – rolled into one beautifully yummy package. Even her blog is like a big ol’ batch of eye candy!

IMG_2188 A little of this and a little of that came together for a gorgeous eclectic display!

IMG_2199 Next we met Val Greenhagen of Elegant Junk. I don’t have a photo of Val, but I did grab a few of her wonderful wares. This mossy old bench caught my eye (and my heart!) I love a good patina… and this one had it allllll over it!

IMG_2202For the love of all things vintage! Just look at all the treasures that were ripe for the picking – I could have spent hours digging through all of the hidden goodness.

IMG_2205  And just before deciding it was time to go, we met Brenda & Jessica, a mom/daughter duo that I had been stalking on Etsy. Their shop, Light Reading is one of the cool spots on Etsy that I secretly swoon over.

IMG_2209 Just look at these gorgeous lamps. Oh for the love of light! Their one of a kind pieces just make my heart go pitter-patter. Sigh. And, if that weren’t enough, they have a beautiful blog, too. I’m so very glad that I got to meet them!

There were sooooo many great spaces at Junk Bonanza that you could fill up an entire blog for a year with all the goodness. These were a few of my favorites – which one do you like?

See ya later for Transformation Thursday :)

  3. Gina- What fun! I wish I could have gone along-but feel like I did kind of by looking at your pictures here. I think the neatest part about some of these flea markets is the souls you meet there- xo Diana

  4. So much fun - one idea on keeping cards start would be to snap a picture of it after the person...you don't necessarily need to be able to read it, just know what the general design is and then you can match it later...
