Things look a little different in this neck of the woods, huh? Growth can do that to you sometimes. I don’t mean growth in the sense that my blog has grown into a “huge” one – rather that Transformation Thursday has developed into such a large affair each week that it boggles my mind that you guys all show up every single week to celebrate with me. I’m honored that you take time out of your day each week to stop by and share your tips, ideas & transformations. There are so many of you each week, in fact, that it makes my blog load incredibly slow – and it only seems to get worse the bigger the party becomes. After months of wondering what to do – Blogger has now made it easy for me to shorten posts (just like this one… see the link below to read the rest of this post).
I don’t always feel like I need to explain or point out every little change I make around here {because I change stuff up WAY too often}, but I do want to explain such a big change. On any given week there are 400-600 posts on Transformation Thursday {YAY! I love y’all for that!!!} When you come to my main page, 99.9% of the time, there is at least one TT post up, which means that your computer has to download each and every thumbnail while “opening” the page. Bummer, huh? You just want to read about my latest spray painting adventure… and waiting 40 forevers to do that is not as much fun.
Truncating (or shortening) posts means that you will only see snippets of my posts, so click on the titles of the posts or CLICK HERE TO CONTINUE READING to see the whole post. I’m pretty sure that you already knew how to do that, since just about every other blog in the world is doing it. {As always, I’m the last to do everything :) }
There are more changes coming in the next few weeks that will make things run smoother, go faster and just generally gussy up the joint. Thanks for hanging with me!
See ya later for Transformation Thursday...
get your paint and brushes ready!

That a great idea that you decided to do that. I just started joining link parties and I love them but when I want to read other blog posts all those thumbnails really slow down my computer and it does suck! Hope some of my other favorite bloggers do the same. :) See you later for TT.
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining in, Karla! I hope the upcoming changes helps it load just a little faster, too :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful idea! Its rather sad that I never made the correlation.... in all honesty I just never gave it a thought.
ReplyDeleteI am so excited about TT this week! I actually have something to submit!! And there is more to follow in weeks to come... I love it when I finally become inspired. Why it takes so long each time we move I have no idea!
Bummer. Not a fan of truncated posts and having to click links so I won't do it. :(
ReplyDeleteI totally understand your reasoning for doing it though . . . Good luck!
I have limited time for Blog reading but for me yours is a must. One more click to get to the content I wish is worth the effort! Faster loading is always a good thing so don't let negative nellies drag you down.
ReplyDeleteLove Love Love your Transformation Thursdays! You have wonderful linky parties and I am excited for your new changes! Best of Luck!
ReplyDeleteI think it's a great idea! I've considered doing it just for my Weekend Bloggy Reading party and weekend posts...to make things easier to load. I can't figure out how to do it though! I followed a tutorial, but I think there may be something in my template that won't allow me to do it. I need to look into that again. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat time do you normally post Transformation Thursday? I have something I'd like to link up this week!
Hugs to you, and congrats on growth--it's a good thing!
That's AWESOME! (The part about so many links not about the slowness!) I think it's great that you can truncate and hopefully alleviate some of the slow loading. I love linking up with your party and I'm very impatient with slow loads so I'm more than happy with the changes.
ReplyDeleteGood for you- Change usually means progress and you are spot on with the change. I hate waiting for the long loads and would much rather click to "read on". Hang in there and ignore the nay sayers- xo Diana
ReplyDeletethanks for the tips on lettering-yours look great!
