Using up a snow day

IMG_4494
Today is our first snow day of the year – ‘cause 3 snowflakes means no school in our neck of the woods. It’s more like a big, sloppy mess than a pretty, fluffy kinda snow. But since I’m a lemonade outta lemons kinda girl, we took the morning to finally finishing taking down the rest of the Christmas stuff. {Please tell me I’m not the only person left with some holiday decor up in the middle of January?!?!?}

Now that all the not fun stuff is outta the way, let the hot chocolate pour and lots of snuggling up with blankies commence. I feel a Jack Sparrow marathon coming on…. looking at tropical locations might keep us a little warmer :)

  1. I have one small naked tree just waiting for my hubby to get it up in the rafters of the garage.
    All that empty space is such a restful thing for the eyes after the holidays

  3. I have to admit all our Christmas decor is down this year but that is usually not the case. Our youngest likes me to keep it up until February but we made the mistake of setting the tree up in front of the living room window. Talk about making a room dark... definitely not something I can handle.

    We had a 2 hr delay so everyone slept in but hubby came home early and now we are finishing up little odd jobs around the house.

    Enjoy your weekend!

  4. That's too funny that school is cancelled for that little bit of snow! BUT how exciting! What a lucky Friday the 13th!

  7. I'm right there with you. I posted my MLK tradition of taking down the tree yesterday @ http://joysjotsshots.blogspot.com. Sounds like you live in my part of the woods where it only takes a few snowflakes to close school and have the groceries overrun with bread and milk seekers. I guess everyone is going to make french toast when it snows?
