I love Anthropologie. Until a few years ago when I started blogging I didn’t even know what it was… kinda sad, huh? Since I’ve been introduced, I was instantly infatuated with their whimsical style. There’s a shop in Green Hills (a part of Nashville), and occasionally I get to pop over for a little dose of inspiration.
This weekend we had to do a little booth refreshing and deliver a big subway sign, so I went to drool a bit. While I loveeee their look, appeal and even marketing techniques – generally I find they are wayyyyy overpriced. Like seriously. Every once in a while, I will break down and buy something that’s been calling my name. These bowls definitely fit the bill. I’ve had them pinned forever – it was just one of the things I couldn’t get out of my head. I finally gave in. $20 is more than I would normally spend on a set of bowls… but they sure are pretty.
They’re gonna look perfect on my (coming soon!) new open shelves in my kitchen. Oh yeah, babe!

I feel the same way about Anthro, too rich for my blood most of the time but sometimes when you've gotta have it, you've gotta have it!
ReplyDeleteI saw a very similar piece at Sur La Table but not in that adorable color!
Enjoy!
LOVE THE COLOR, GINA, OF COURSE. Sounds like you had a fun weekend.
ReplyDeleteI've drooled over those in the store many times - great purchase! Some times you just have to splurge.
ReplyDeletewhat a great color! great choice :-)

ReplyDeleteI love those bowls,I have some beautiful pieces in the similar color, wish we had the store near by, I live in the sticks and just drool over internet shopping! Nettie
ReplyDeleteWould you believe I hadn't heard of Anthropology until I started blogging either. Now I'm dying to go, but we don't have one anywhere near where I live. I live vicariously through all of you who post amazing images :)
ReplyDeleteThose bowls are divine and worth every penny. :) Can't wait to see your open shelves kitchen. I've been debating the idea myself lately.... x Julie
ReplyDeleteI have bought their cafe au lait bowls for years! They are inexpensive so I don't mind when one breaks. I have them on my open shelves too!
ReplyDeleteI came across your blog and saw these bowls. They looked very familiar. I live in Germany and found these same bowls in France, old antique ones. So I could be totally wrong.... but this style originates in France and not with this store. Mine are old and the glaze is very crackled. They are now selling a new verison of them for 1.70 euros a piece in one department store.
ReplyDeleteI just started collecting the smaller size of these, the mini latte bowls. Any time I go by Anthropologie, I swing in and pick up two, spending just $5 each time. My collection is slowly growing and they make me happy. Little treats!
ReplyDeleteKnow exactly what you mean about Anthropology, and I do the same thing. But I love it there...when I need some creative stimulation that is a place I like to go OR if I just feel a little down...love that place!
ReplyDeleteA girl's got to have what a girl wants! Can't wait to see your open shelves....been wanting to do that in my kitchen.
ReplyDeleteI bought 8 of the same bowl except in Red after Christmas at Target. They were 80% off but that was a couple of years ago and I love them. This is the first time I've seen them in blue. We don't have an Anthropologie
ReplyDeletewhere I live in Montana. I've been collecting red and white dishes for years.
