going floral

ranunculus Yesterday we made a big ole trip to the mecca… I mean Home Depot. I love going there to get ideas for projects, but this time of year I especially love the garden center. Since I’m have a pretty black thumb, I rarely ever buy any pretty flowers, but the girls were begging and I caved.

and without an idea in the world on how to care for them, I bought them anyway.

Luckily they chose the perfect flower… easy to grow and blooms all spring & summer.  And they smell divine. Now that’s my kinda flower!

Mr. SCC built us some planter boxes, and I’ll share more on them in a few days,
but I just couldn’t wait to share these beauties :)

  2. Ranunculus are one of my favorite flowers. They are absolutely beautiful! I have to admit, I'm just sticking with succulents. I've killed my share of potted plants by forgetting to water them. Succulents are so easy and they're pretty. too. I was just at Costco yesterday, and they have cactus (I believe they were in 8" pots) for $13.00. Not just for one, but three pots for $13.00! Good deal!

  5. Hi Gina. You and your girls picked well. If you are late with the water they will wilt but usually perk right up. When the blooms start to look droopy cut them off, this is called dead heading and the plant will start creating more blooms.
