If you're looking for a lot of filler for little money, book page garland is the way to go. With just one book from a dollar store (or thrift store or yard sale) you can get a lot of bang for your buck. It really helped make my mantle even more beautiful for last week's holiday home tour. Wanna learn how to make it?
Speaking of a buck... did you know that there's of a whole week of dollar store decorating posts? You can find the previous post over on The Pennington Point.
Crinkle it up and run a stitch over it. When you need to join pages, just make the next page slide into the fold of the page before it and keep on crinkling/sewing. Go, go, go. If you want a little, just do a handful of pages. If you want a lot, do the whole book. An entire book takes about 30 minutes once you get in the rhythm.
I like to tuck greenery into it for the holidays, or use it to make a Ruffled Book Page Sunburst Mirror.
Tomorrow the dollar store decorating inspiration continues with Stacy at Kids*Stuff*World.
