Heart Shaped Roasted Potatoes

Want to make your Valentine meal just a little more special? Then I have an easy side dish that brings the everyday ordinary into something that adds a little love to your plate! Take those simple roasted potatoes to a whole new level with just a few extra minutes.

Slice the potatoes, then use a small heart cookie cutter to cut out the pieces. Soak them in ice water for an hour or so, to help make them crisp later. (Chop up the off cuts for soup or something.)

After you drain them, pat them dry with a paper towel.

Place them on a baking sheet, and lightly coat them with olive oil, then sprinkle on salt and grill seasoning (my fave!) Bake them at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes, flipping them half way through.

When they're done, then you have the sweetest side dish, perfect to share with the one you love.

  7. Those spuds look so good. I love spuds and those sound and look too delicious to wait for Valentines to make. Yummmm. Wonder if we have any spuds left after hubs made a ham/potato soup.
We've gotten pretty tired of the same old dishes we've been making for too long so I've been printing out several of the yummy recipes I find on the blogs. What a warehouse of great food. This will be one of them we'll be making. So glad you shared these Gina, excellent. Now where's my heart shaped cookie cutter?
