I mean, y'all know me... and y'all know that I'm not going to voluntarily clean. But, then I remembered my sad looking painted porch, so I agreed to try it.
Here's the ugly truth about my beloved aqua paint: During the summer, I clean it every day - and I actually like doing it! It's cool and refreshing and almost like playing in a wade pool. I get out there and spray it down and clean it up without a whimper. After a long, wet, icky winter-ish (because living in the south means you get like 4 snowflakes all season) - that pretty porch ain't so pretty.
See all that grime? Remember this is a judgement-free zone, m'kay? The mess above was dirt that was ground into the paint. I actually mopped it just the day before because I couldn't bare to stress y'all out with the full throttle mess of it all. You're welcome.
I knew that if the SteamMachine could handle that mess, then it could absolutely, positively, without a doubt handle anything. Yeah, it was that bad!
About an hour later, I had a clean porch. That image above is not Photoshopped. It's the real deal, yo!
After the fabulous results on the porch, I steam cleaned everything in sight... windows, doors, walls, I even threatened the cat. If it stood still and I thought it could take the heat, it got steamed. {It also removes wallpaper, but I don't have any wallpaper to remove, so I missed the boat on trying that.} I almost became a clean freak.... almost. Then I took a break and got over it.
Legal: HomeRight.com provided me with a SteamMachine for review purposes. All words, ideas and opinions are my own.

Gina,
ReplyDeleteI have a similar industrial steam machine, and love it. It will blast even tough grease from a grill. Your floors look lovely and it is so fun to use. Glad you are enjoying all your cleaning:)
MY KITCHEN FLOORS! And as a side note, steam is the most effective way to kill bed bugs. I speak from experience on that one.

ReplyDeleteIf I won, the first thing I would clean would be my bath room tile.
ReplyDeleteMy kitchen floors I'm pretty sure they haven't been cleaned since 2011!
ReplyDeleteWell you had me at "removes wallpaper" . : )
ReplyDeleteMy kitchen floors! Thank goodness they are wood and don't show the dirt but they are a mess! Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteYou had me at "removes wallpaper" and that's exactly what I'd do ! :)

Where to start. I also do not clean like I should but I think I would start with the living room carpet. We have toddlers and we are nearing the end of potty training I hope. Lets just say it hasn't been an accident free time in our lives. I am so tired of scrubbing in carpet cleaner.
ReplyDeleteMy bathroom. Thanks
ReplyDeleteAre you sure I didn't write this post? At least the part about being an overly-relaxed housekeeper and having a grungy porch? I intended to clean the porch LAST spring, but it never happened. So now it is so dirty (along with all the railings,) that I may just have to move out-of-state.
ReplyDeleteMy entire mobile home! I moved my family of 6 from a nice urban home to country living and squeezed them into a two bedroom trailer. Four years later, I still didn't get the house built and we have now moved back to the city to take on a new career opportunity. The property (and abused trailer) remains in our possession. Yippie! Problem...after hating the trailer all these years, I'm now faced with polishing it up and keeping it as my getaway. Oh my. What a challenge!
ReplyDeleteI would first squel with delight if Iwon....then clean all my floors and then begone floral wall paper border!!!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, so much to clean!! LOL Kitchen floor, bathroom floor, kitchen wallpaper, screened porch framing... :) Would love to win!

ReplyDeleteSo...steam cleaning the cat isn't an option?? Well if that's the case, then I'd start with my sliding glass doors. And then my windows. And then my floors. And then my furniture...and then...
ReplyDeletekgran0418@gmail.com
First I would take off the peeling funky 16 year old wallpaper in the dining room and hall. And then clean my hubby's sneakers. And then the dog bowl holder. And then where it drips down between the stove and the counter. And then ..

I would start in the kitchen and then like you, keep going until I needed a break. Looks like a must-have little machine.
ReplyDeleteKitchen, windows, bathroom... I think i'd try all at once!! So pick me! pick me! (and thanks to HomeRight for giving us the chance to win!)
ReplyDeleteOh my GoodNess~What I wouldn't do for this machine! Living in a house that is being remodeled, and being far from done, this machine would get it's workout and then some. There is not one inch of this house (built in 1890) that Doesn't need a deep cleaning!
ReplyDeleteCan you tell I am swooning? LOL
I would clean my massive amount of tile floor!!!
ReplyDeleteIt would be hard to pass up any surface that can take the heat. We are moving and need to clean the carpets, so I would start there. I would then head to our upholstered headboard and foot board because I haven't been able to figure out how to clean those until now. BRILLIANT!
ReplyDeleteWould definitely clean the kitchen and bathroom floors.
ReplyDeleteI've had a steamer for years, but would love a new one, as mine in wearing out! I've used it too clean grout in the kitchen tile floors, it's great for getting soap scum off the shower, but use it most for cleaning the tile floors. Thanks for a chance to win.

ReplyDeleteI would absolutely love to win this!! And I'm so happy that this giveaway is open to Canadians, too! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteTile floors are a must in Las Vegas but mopping an entire house is a workout. My arms would appreciate a little steam help.
ReplyDeleteOur shower!! Then the floors! Then the appliances! Woot!
ReplyDeleteI would clean my icky lineoleum floors!! I hate them, but hopefully this year I can get them changed to some awesome bamboo floors!
ReplyDeleteWANT! I borrowed a friend's steam cleaner and did exactly what you did, cleaned everything in sight. My favorite was blasting the grease off of my oven and now I want one bad.
ReplyDeleteAngela
Oh My! I would steam my kitchen floor and then my stove and then my bathroom and then my back doors...That would be ahhhhmazing!
ReplyDeleteThis is fantastic!!! Of course I would start by cleaning my floors with this baby, but I'm sure I would quickly move on to other surfaces that need cleaning too! I love that clean feeling and anything to help me achieve it!
ReplyDeleteThat was so funny. I am not a clean freak either but if this could get me on my way that would be awesome. I would clean the bathrooms first, I always feel like they are dirty even when they are clean. A nice steam clean might help.
ReplyDeleteHere is my pin http://pinterest.com/pin/132152570287829683/
ReplyDeleteI would clean my awful floors!! Between a dog, cat, and toddler, they are dirty!! (And I'm like you and admittedly horrible at scrubbing them!)

ReplyDeleteLove that you admit to not being the 'perfect housekeeper'. I would so love to win this. I have 3 boys in the house and only 1 bathroom. Oh yeah there's 3 girls too. One is only 3 weeks old so she doesn't know how disgusting her Dad, Uncle and Grandpa are yet. Please pick me, so need it. Tired of cleaning on my hands and knees.
ReplyDeleteI'd attack my kitchen floors that never seem to stay clean! I swear that when I mop there is a beacon sent out to drop juice on the floor or track mud in the house!
ReplyDeleteOur kitchen floors have to be mopped daily for some reason, so that would be first, but we have no carpet in our house, so the real answer is "EVERYTHING!"
ReplyDeleteI would clean my kitchen floors after a visit from my grandchildren. I love them but they are the "messies" for sure!

ReplyDeleteThis would be my dream come true to win this giveaway!!! I think I'd go at my kitchen floors first - ACK!
ReplyDeleteWell, I would most likely leave my poor 17 y/o old cat alone....although I'm sure she could probably use a little cleaning being so ancient (vintage?). And my dog would probably enjoy a little spa day with that sweet machine....but I would most definitely use it on my tiled kitchen floor - which I hate, but have to live with. Maybe if it was a little (ok...alot) cleaner, I may like it a little better. lol
ReplyDeleteThanks for this great giveaway, Gina! :)

ReplyDeletewe live in a rental. which probably would be the number one reason i need a steam cleaner. and we have a lovely wrap-around porch....that mostly looks like yours did. only worse. i have those teeny tiny little wee birdies that fly up into the smallest niches of our porch and.....um.....poop. so i have birdie poopies beneath some of my porch supports. and.....i totally need to clean the lino in the kitchen that never quite ever gets clean enough. i would love, love love the handy little thing! thanks for being so awesome to want to share this with someone. i've got my fingers crossed! look out birdie poopies!
ReplyDeleteThe first items that would get cleaned is the two upholstered chairs in my office and then the 6 upholstered dining chairs. Their seats and backs are all upholstery fabric. !! naydewdrop@gmail.com Ann

ReplyDeleteI must get one! I'd start with the floors but windows are certainly high on the list!
ReplyDeleteWow, I really thought the first picture was a whitewashed plywood floor. Sorry. The picture after steam cleaning was soooo impressive! Does it do upholstery? 'Cuz that would totally rock!!
ReplyDeleteI wouldmstart with the unsealed tile in my kitchen!

i'd do my kitchen floor, for sure!
ReplyDeleteI would see if it could do something to help my shower! It needs lots of help. Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteellen(at)myerly(dot)net
I would most definitely start with the shower!! Then I would move on to the windows, porch, etc. You are not the only one that needs to clean. As my mother says "I use to keep house, now it keeps me". lol. Thanks for the giveaway. My email is lvmycowboy@bellsouth.net

ReplyDeleteI would clean my filthy back porch with the laundry room on it. I never show photos of that. It's on the list. Right now it is a staging area while we remodel the interior.
ReplyDeleteI would clean my kitchen floor!
ReplyDeleteI would start with my carpet, then the shower/tub. After that I would loan it to my family and let my daughters-in-law have a go at their problem areas. That is an amazing transformation of your porch. Btw I am just like you, give me any chore outside and it's mine with no complaints, but I don't like having to clean indoors.
ReplyDeleteI would definitely start with the kitchen floor and then the walls...and then who knows! What an awesome giveaway!

ReplyDeleteMy whole house is in desperate need of a deep clean! i live in a rented basement apartment, and the tenant before us lived here for several years and I swear never once cleaned any floors!
ReplyDeleteMy kitchen floor has grout that is supposed to be white and it is not at the moment. I bought this white stuff that you paint your grout with and it takes quite awhile to do it, like the old fashioned white shoe polish bottle. I would lovvvvvvvvvvvvvve to clean my grout.
ReplyDeleteI face booked you, pinned you and yea, now writing!
Hum...lots of tile in our house. Pretty sure some spots have never been cleaned :)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely the kitchen floors. Seriously need a good scrubbin'!
ReplyDeleteWhat an impressive machine. I could certainly put that to use. After some thought, I decided the first thing I would clean is my neighbors entryway which is about 12 feet from my front door. They don't believe in sweeping, wiping up spilled sodas etc. They may not care but it would sure make me happy to see a clean area each time I opened my door!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the opportunity to win.

Please pick me... I've got a 2 story foyer with 2 layers of wallpaper that needs to be removed!! Seriously, I just did a post about it a couple of days ago...go look at my site: pendrasplace.blogspot.com We've just bought a house and it has woodgrain tiles on the whole lower level that needs to be cleaned... all 2400 sq. ft. of it! I'd rather be crafting, sewing or decorating, in other words, I REALLY need this and I think I'd use it...everywhere!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Pendra
I would use it on everything possible, Spring cleaning coming up!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely would tackle the indow first!
ReplyDeleteOh my Goodness... There's hope for me yet???? After seeing your porch.... I want to clean all my floors.... Can you really clean your windows with this??? and your walls??? ReplyDeleteI need help with my bathroom floors! Haz_el_eyes@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteMy kitchen floors and then see if it would clean the hair spray "overspray" in my bathroom. There HAS to be a better way than alcohol and a rag!
ReplyDeleteOh dear lord you had me at "removes wallpaper"! That would be the FIRST thing I would want to try, then the tile floors in the bathroom (where the offending wallpaper resides). We just bought this home and are installing wood floors....Oh yeah, I could and would use this bad-lad.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Thanks for the chance.
I would tackle my sunroom which is all tile floor and glass windows. My kids (2 teens and an 8 yr old)have made it a grungy, sticky mess.
ReplyDeletepinned your link, thank you

I would start with the kids bathroom!!!!
ReplyDeleteI would clean my back splash tiles in the kitchen first and then I would try to remove wall paper in my bathroom!!! Window washing would be so cool to try too!!! <3
ReplyDeleteThe first place I would clean would be my bathroom floors! The previous owners installed a rough, slate-like tile that is so difficult to clean - I long for the day we replace them. Until then, this steam cleaner would be fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI would clean my parents tile floors. I clean for them at least monthly. They live in a house we purchased when ours burned and was being rebuilt. My mom is unable to do the mopping and cleaning in depth any more and the grout lines are especially dingy in the kitchen and baths. I have used various products and so far none have given me the satisfactory results I am seeking. I just don't have the time to scrub them with a toothbursh each month with caring for my parents and my family. I would then proceed to clean my tile and hardwood floors and area rugs at my house and my parents. Thanks for the demo....would love to try it out! Blessings!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely kitchen floors would be first in line, then bathrooms! Thanks
ReplyDeleteI would love to try this on my windows - I have really tall windows and I dread cleaning them (so they don't get done very often!). I also would use it on my hardwood floors!!! Thank you for this awesome giveaway!
ReplyDeleteWould love to win this...I have a long to do list. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteOh, how fun!! I would clean my back entry where everyone comes in. It is constantly dirty back there!

ReplyDeleteLike you I am not a great housekeeper. I would start with the hard floors in my house and then would continue on to removing wallpaper that is outdated.
ReplyDeleteOkay . . . I don't only want this steam machine . . . I need it! Seriously, living in the Pacific N.W., we get day after day of gray mistiness. I walked out onto my upper deck yesterday to shake out a rug (yes, I was cleaning instead of crafting!) and noticed that the deck was GREEN! GREEN MOLD! Yuck! I think I am living in serious danger everytime I walk on that deck and track the mold spores back into my house. Yes! I NEED a steam machine for sure. Patti@OldThingsNew
ReplyDeleteBTW, I pinned it too! Patti@OldThingsNew
ReplyDeleteI would start in the kitchen and work my way to the bathrooms!
ReplyDeleteI would clean all of my tiles floors. The grout gets disgusting! Especially with a Saint Bernard in the house!
ReplyDeleteI'd start with my Mum's carpets, but then I'd do the bathrooms, lino floors, the windows (especially the sliding glass doors) and the oven. I borrowed one from a friend when I moved out of my apt. last summer and they ARE wonderful! Even did my frig. They are so fast and easy to use, too. Thanks for the chance to win. ~ Linne
ReplyDeleteI would start with the kitchen floor ... with 4 kiddos and a dog... it sure needs it! Awesome giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI am dying to clean my porch as well! Yuck!
ReplyDeletegrout in my new to me house...ugh!
ReplyDeleteI would so clean my kitchen floor first, then when the weather permits here in ND, I'd clean windows, then on and on :-) OK...I actually like to clean...I got that from my paternal grandmother.
ReplyDeleteMy kitchen and bathroom tile floors! I HATE to mop! They get pretty bad and then once every few months, I'll give in and get own there and scrub them with a brush. Yuck!
ReplyDeleteBathroom and kitchen tile floors need it first! Then the sunroom. I would love this!!!
ReplyDeleteI have a steam cleaner for just floors, but have been wanting one that will do everything like this one! Oh wow, the oven especially, I can't get that cleaned right for the life of me! And the black in the sliding door grooves? How am I suppose to get them perfect again? Yes, this would be a wonderful cleaning tool.
ReplyDeleteDebbie :)
I would clean my bathroom tile floors. I can't find anything that will get them clean. Then I would remove the wallpaper in my upstairs bathroom. Been wanting to do that, just haven't had the energy! Sounds like a great machine.
ReplyDelete
