Once upon a time (about 4 years ago), five bloggers gathered together to give my daughter’s room a makeover. At the time she was 11 and into all things girly. As a smallish kiddo, she didn’t need a lot of room. Fast forward a few years, the story is different. Her sister has moved out, teenage wardrobes are much, much bigger than younger kids are – so little Bre moved from the smallest room in our house to a bigger room.
Since I had kinda taken up residence in the spare room as my office, the small bedroom was now my default choice (well it was really the only choice.) But as much as I love my girls – pink walls and little girl frills just aren’t my cup of tea. So I teamed up with my friends at Sherwin-Williams to give my entire office a makeover for National Painting Week. In one week, I completely transformed that pink princess bedroom into a modern loft style office. You’ll have to wait until next week to see the entire transformation… but here’s a little sneak peek:
why yes, that really is old school, 70’s style brick paneling. Yeah, that was a fun discussion on why I wanted to put stuff up in this house that we ripped out of our old house. But now that it’s done, it looks amazing and I can’t wait to share the whole space with you next week.
Let’s talk paint colors, though, shall we? For this room I chose two shades. One was my go-to wall color, Sherwin-Williams Extra White (SW 7006). It’s the perfect shade without being to yellow or too blue. But then, just for fun, I added in a shot of Mega Greige (SW 7031) – and I really can’t wait to show you where it’s at… but I’m keeping that a secret for now.
