If you live in a small home, you know the struggle of living with a small bathroom is all too real. Bathrooms hold a lot of the daily necessities of life, and if you have more than two people sharing the space then it gets even trickier. With a few tricks and tips, you can make the most of the space you have without sacrificing style. Every small trick helps make the most of the space you have. These ten bathroom hacks will help get your space in order and make you feel like it’s your own little spa.
Maximize the mirror: Although it’s a simple solution, using an oversized mirror gives you the illusion of a much larger space. It multiplies the light and tricks your eye into believing the area is almost double the size.
Triple your towel storage: Instead of just installing one towel bar use three. The back of a door is the perfect place, so you can save the wall for storing other items.
Pick a pedestal. If you’re looking to find a little more floor space, pedestal sinks are a great choice instead of a vanity. Tight spaces sometimes means you can only get a tiny vanity, but a pedestal might be a better choice because you don’t have to deal with the boxy cupboard that can tend to get cluttered.
Baskets are your friend. Put them on the wall to hold all sorts of things from toiletries to towels. They’re also great for holding toilet paper or even hair dryers, etc.
On a roll. Rolling towels works similar to rolling your clothes when packing, it helps make the most of the space. And, let’s face it, it kinda lends a spa-like feel.
Keep it together with containers. Brushes, cotton swabs, even toothbrushes – keep those smaller items corralled with pretty containers that compliment the decor of the space.
Create space for what you need. As a mom of two girls, I can tell you that we have a need for space for hair dryers, straighteners, curling irons… the list goes on. This is a great idea that’s simply cuts of PVC mounted on a door.
Install space savers. Retractable make up mirrors make it easy to get them out of the way when not in use. We have one in each of our bathrooms, because they’re a must for us.
Smart ideas for small things. Razors laying around the shower is bad for the blade and dangerous for everyone using it. Give them a proper place with a bit of PVC and some zip ties.
Quit losing bobby pins. If I had a nickel for every bobby pin I’ve ever lost then I’d be rich. Keep it all together with a simple magnetic strip (one for knives would work perfectly.)
