Last week I started this new series, and I’m so glad y’all loved it as much as I do! While I agree that buying really good second hand furniture is a very, very smart way to go, I also encourage building your own when possible. Sometimes, however, neither of those options are viable. When you look for something specific… say Windsor chairs…. they never seem to be around. And as handy as Mr. SCC is, I don’t know that he’d be able to replicate these beauties. Since there was a request last week for a Windsor Chair Edition – here we go!
Let’s start with the highest, k? Obviously this is not the highest end out there – some antique chairs can go for thousands, but I did want to share this hand crafted version from Vermont Wood Studios. At $529, it’s definitely not cheap.
Next on the list is the Payton side chair from Ethan Allen. It comes in several colors, so you’re not stuck with this honey color 🙂 However, at $299, you might feel a pinch in your wallet, though! And I’ve gotta admit, I’m not a big fan of the thicker bottoms of the back spindles. I like those all uniform (I know, it’s weird!)
A little on the high side, but still sitting pretty is this version from Bellacor. Look at those legs… hubba hubba! We’re getting a little more budget friendly, at $205. Honestly, though, it’s still more than I can afford to pay for a chair.
Let’s move on to some more budget friendly options! Amazon.com has everything, don’t they? Including this chair from Carolina Classic. It looks exactly the same as the Bellacor chair (I promise the photo is correct, though!) but at a much better price of $137.
Here’s a lighter color from Target – much more cottage friendly. The legs are plain, but that’s ok to me – these are only $72 for the pair… now we’re getting warmer!
And last, and wellllll even the least (costly, that is), is Walmart. I’ve seen these chairs in person, and I’ve gotta say that I was pretty impressed with their quality. A set of two chairs for only $69? I really thought they’d fall apart in no time. However, a friend actually has these and they’ve held up amazingly well. I love the turned legs and straight spindles on the back – my two favorite qualities in Windsor chairs.
So that’s it for The Look For Less Windsor Chair edition! If there’s something you’re looking for and would like me to give it a go, leave a comment 🙂

I had Windsors for years and finally passed them along to kids when I went with a set of antique chairs that I found. The Windsors were always so comfortable, though- xo Diana

Hey! That was my request! Thanks for doing this post! My Walmart doesn’t carry these chairs! Maybe I can just order them online. Love that price!

I have the cherry, warm brown wood windsor chairs from Target. I looked around forever and finally settled on these. Five years later they still look brand new. They are very strong and I’m really happy with them. I paired the six chairs with a large pine farmhouse table.
The custom handmade chairs are so beautiful and maybe worth it one day!

I always seem to find Windsor chairs at auctions, typical ages range from 50-100 plus years old. I usually see them go for between 100-150 per chair. Check out a local auction and see what you find!
