Nothing says fall like a pumpkin spice latte, huh? Well, that’s what my girls think anyway. Although I’m not a huge fan of it, I try to make things they love – and this is definitely one of them. We live about 45 minutes from the closest Starbucks… so it’s not a quick trip to get their PSL fix. And if you buy the syrup? It’s rather pricey. So I made some pumpkin spice latte syrup for my girls in just a few minutes, and without even taking a trip to the store. I’m betting you already have all the ingredients you need in your pantry.
Homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte Syrup
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 cup of water
- 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
Put the sugar and water in a sauce pan and put it over medium heat and cook until all sugar is melted. DO NOT STIR IT. You can swirl the pan a bit – but don’t stir. It will cause it to crystalize later in the bottle. You don’t want that, so DON’T STIR.
After all the sugar is melted, take it off the heat and add in the spice and vanilla. Swirl the pan until it is all incorporated well. Let sit in pan until completely cool. Strain the syrup with cheesecloth to remove all of the spice sediment then pour into a bottle. Keep refrigerated.
After you have the syrup made, you can use your pumpkin spice latte syrup in hot or cold drinks – use as much or as little as you’d like to get the flavors of fall in a 100% natural way.
