Use what you have: Boxwood Planter

Making something with boxwood greenery had been on my list forever, so long, in fact, that I bought it and promptly pulled it off the stems. Then I had no idea what to do with it. I tried a million things, but in the end the only thing I did with it was pile it all into a bag and put it into storage bin. But then, a crazy idea came to my mind… what if I put it into a vintage cheese box?

Of course, I didn’t have any floral foam. That’s what most folks use when making arrangements, but I never seem to have any of it on hand. Yeah, I know I could have bought some… but then I really didn’t want to change out of my PJs. So, instead, I just stuffed some tissue paper into the bottom of the box, then tucked all the greenery right on top.

Is it secure? Yep! But then I don’t have little hands trying to pluck it out, either. Just tucking it into the box worked perfect for me – while I was in my PJs, of course! I’m always about trying to make things work with what I’ve got… because who wants to go shopping for floral foam? You neither? Yeah…. that’s what I thought.

Have you used what you have lately?
