12 free calligraphy fonts

Calligraphy fonts have come a long way. Once upon a time they were more like English script – very formal and rather stuffy. Precision and perfection were the goals to hand pen invitations and decrees that were legal and deemed everlasting, so digital versions reflected that. Now, with the more laid back style of the times, we prefer something a little more informal and personal. The beauty is in the imperfections, even in digital form.

From weddings to crafting or even making your own custom pantry labels – there’s a pretty calligraphy font to help you with all those. It would also be beautiful for scrapbooking pages or making your own gold foil prints.

*Remember to read all of the terms and conditions of each individual font. I do not own any of the files, I’m merely showcasing each artist’s work so you can find their beautiful creations. Most are free for personal use only, so be sure you adhere to the terms of each file before using. In other words, if you will profit from the use of these fonts, please either make sure it is free for commercial use, pay the artist or find a different font. The artist is generous enough to share the free font with you – so if you love the work you might also consider donating to them.

Hi Marilyn, you should be able to. I have a MAC, just go to the individual sites for each font and you should be fine 🙂
