Kahlua and Coke Ice Cream Float

kahlua and coke ice cream floatSometimes a girl just needs a drink. Have mercy! I’m not a big drinker, but if you give me a bottle of Kahlua then I’m good to go for about 6 months. Of course, with a Kahlua and Coke Ice Cream Float, it might not last quite that long. It takes me back to childhood, except I still get to be all grown up with a little alcohol addition to this adult drink.

All you need is ice cream, Coke & Kahlua.
drink recipe

Put a single scoop of ice cream in the glass, then add in a shot of Kahlua (give or take – depending on how strong you want it.)

Then just pour the Coca-Cola slowly on top. It will foam up, but that’s the best part!

I put a second, smaller scoop of ice cream on top, just to be extra yummy. If you’re into that kinda thing….

And that’s my Kahlua and Coke ice cream float.  Ahhh! It’s so good. Of course, leave out the alcohol for the kids, and everyone can enjoy this retro treat.

I did a double-take as I scrolled through my Google reader and saw your title. How is it that I never thought to combine three of my favorite things? This is sheer brilliance! Excuse me while I grab my purse and head to the store 🙂 Thanks for sharing.

I only have a few drinks each year. But when I do , my favorite drink of all time is Smith and Kearns .. which is Kahlua, Cream and Soda. I came across it in the 1970s, but it is much older than that. Here is that recipe:
    2 oz Kahlua® coffee liqueur
    3 oz milk
    1 splash club soda

Build in an iced highball glass. Top with soda, and serve. Enjoy!

Oh my that looks so good I can almost taste it, yummmmmmm. I haven’t had any kahlua in years. I used to drink what it is called a “toasted almond” with kalhua, amaretto and milk. Oh boy do they taste good. Very smooth but after about 2 or 3 I’m pretty out of it especially since I haven’t even had a beer in over a year. We just don’t go out much anymore do not much opportunity for having a good drink. Too expensive to have at a bar or restaurant.
Hubs can’t really drink anymore, maybe a beer now and then as he has to take high blood pressure meds since he had a stroke. I take Paxil so not supposed to drink either. No fun had around here anymore. I love Margaritas also but haven’t had one in long long time. Ah well. Guess I had enuf in younger years to make up for it. (not really). lol
I have got to try one of those floats tho. Absolutely sinful but so good. Happy Days Gina
