Hey there The Shabby Creek Cottage readers, it’s Emily from The Benson Street. I don’t know about you, but it has been so very hot around our house. We should have air conditioning, but we don’t. To cool off we just make easy no bake desserts. I love a good simple dessert recipe and I want to share with you my new favorite, no bake orange dream cake.
This dessert is so light, fluffy and refreshing. Throw it together the night before a big barbecue, refrigerate over night and serve. It is really that easy.
I made this cake in individual jar servings and in a 9 x 13 pan. Either way works!
What you will need to make Orange Dream Cake:
- 2 – 1.5 oz sugar free instant vanilla pudding mixes
- 1 – 3 oz orange gelatin mix
- 3 1/2 cups milk
- 1 – 16 oz Cool Whip
- 2 boxes Vanilla Wafers
- 2 cans mandarin oranges, drained (optional)
Directions:
Blend together pudding mix, jello mix and milk.
Fold in 1/2 to 3/4 cup cool whip (reserve remaining for topping)
Line a 9 x 13 pan with vanilla wafers, covering the entire bottom of the pan.
Spread half of the pudding mixture over the vanilla wafers.
Sprinkle mandarin oranges over pudding mix.
Follow up with another layer of wafers, pudding mixture, and oranges.
Finish it off with a last layer of wafers and spread whip cream over the cookies.
Refrigerate over night (or all day before serving).
Serve chilled. Garnish with crushed vanilla wafers (optional).
