The blog famous apothecary jar

Easy and quick DIY Apothecary jar- takes less than 5 minutes!
We’ve seen them all over blogland – take a candlestick & a vase and transform them into a beautiful Apothecary jar. It took me longer than everybody else for two reasons. 1) I am slow. 2) I am picky. It took me forever to find the perfect candlestick, because I wanted one that looked simliar to the turned wooden ones that I adore.
Easy and quick DIY Apothecary jar- takes less than 5 minutes!
Just remember to leave it alone for 24 hours (that’s always the hardest part).
Easy and quick DIY Apothecary jar- takes less than 5 minutes!
Then you get a beautiful jar. Mine was $4 – $2 for each piece. You can get cheaper components if you look hard enough.

So whaddya think?

You really picked the right pieces to glue together. It actually looks like an apothocary jar, not a candle stick and a vase glued together. I’m pretty picky as well and yours looks great. The best I’ve seen out there. Well done.

Very lovely! I am hoping for some different Gorilla glue in my stocking to make some of these! πŸ˜‰ They just look so nice. Who ever thought of these first should get a big kiss!

RM – E6000 is better than Gorilla Glue, to me. It will glue anything and doesn’t bubble up like foam. Gorilla Glue works well, but I’ve ruined a couple of projects because it bled out from what I was making.

At Walmart, the E6000 is only $2.97 – well worth every penny. It will make more projects than you’d ever imagine!

I have never seen this idea anywhere! I see the apothecary jars holding everything(even candy – imagine that!) on all the blogs I read, but never how to make one or even how to really save money on them. I have bought a few from Marshall’s and you still beat their prices! I think that this is one of the best ever ideas!!

Your “jar” looks great. What I can’t understand is where do you go to find your glass and candlestick so cheap? I wish you would do a blog on all of the many things we can fill apothacary jars and cloches with. Nancy
