All week I've been sharing my decorating adventures from my trip to San Diego last week. There were lots and lots of hours put into 3 days, but it was totally worth it to get a space that my friend adores. Her favorite part (and mine!) was the office makeover. The most expensive room in the house - it's also where she spend most of her time, since she's a work at home Navy wife. I listened to what she needed, looked at what she had, and found some solutions that would work for her. Wanna ... continue reading...
$75 Bedroom Makeover
Last week I was in sunny San Diego, CA helping my good friend Kristen give her apartment a little makeover. Her friends and family thought she was crazy for flying me out to help, but she swore to them that I'd save her way more than the air fare cost her. And she was right! Her bedroom had great bones, it just needed a little magic to make it the retreat that she dreamed of. We started by painting the walls a great grey, called Storm by Valspar. It brought a lot of drama to the ... continue reading...
cotton seed sack inspired table
A few months ago, I found some great chairs in Atlanta. I knew that was the beginning of a new breakfast area…. I just had to be patient enough to wait for the perfect table. This week, I found the perfect table – well it was almost perfect. All it needed was a little paint to make it the perfect addition to our home. It may not be the easiest recipe I’ve ever made, but it certainly is one of my best. First you’re going to need a few ingredients: 1 cup nutella 1 package of cream cheese (8 oz.) 1 Tbs. vanilla extract 1 semi-sweet bar of good chocolate (4 oz.) 16 oz. of pecans 1 package of caramels 1 ... continue reading...
The Look For Less: Industrial Style Metal Bar Stools
Woo hoo – it’s Friday! That means it’s time for another TL4L. This week I’m lusting after industrial style metal barstools. Let’s see if we can find them on the cheap, m’kay? This was my inspiration for the week. Just look at it…. sigh… Ain’t it a beaut? I found it at Hudson Goods with a not so good price tag of $275. I mean, it’s awesome and all, but at that price it would cost over $1100 to have a set of 4. The next on the list is this version from Sundance. I actually like the brushed metal ... continue reading...
