creating an entry where there is none

create an entry by using entryway furniture like this old ladder to create an entryway

Making a grand entrance isn’t all that easy when you have a 2 ft. by 4 ft. square to do it in. No room for big furniture. No big open space to decorate. That’s ok, I like to keep things simple, including how I handle our entry space.

I bought this ladder last year when we were in Minnesota for $5. Of course, I did give it a coat of white paint. I used it for a while in my booth space, but when I let that go I brought it home. It traveled with me to Bella Rustica, but no one seemed to want a chippy, white ladder, so she came home with me again.

It kinda works perfect to hold our jackets, hats & scarves. I just tied a simple basket to it to hold mittens and things. Nothin’ fancy, just strung some ribbon through the basket and tied it on. Simple solutions are my favorite kind.

I’m glad that homeless ladder finally found the perfect spot to land. I hope she stays a while.

I bought an old ladder at a sale. I wish my steps were flat…..they are round. I painted it red with ASCP. It has lights on it and my Christmas cards. I love it. Yours looks nice and useful. I did get alot of slack out of buying this from my Hubby.

What a great idea, it looks lovely. My entry way is a whole whopping 2 by 2 so I understand trying to decorate a small area.

Love it! I got a ladder much like yours at a thrift store, also for $5! I left it as it was, just gave it a few spray coats of polyurethane to protect it. I used it last weekend at a craft sale to hang my aprons and such. But seeing yours actually IN the house….well, my wheels are turning! Thanks!

I think this is an adorable idea, and I love the basket tied on for mittens and hats! You’ll probably have started a whole new trend now and we won’t be able to find $5.00 ladders anymore!! Really cute hon!
