Well, hello there to all you wonderful Shabby Creek Cottage readers! My name is Laura and I blog at Inspiration for Moms. I am so excited to be sharing a sweet treat with you once a month as a new Dessert Contributor.
I thought I would share a little about myself before we dip our spoons into this sweet Blueberry Crumble a’ la Mode.

Gina is just the sweetest lady ever! She asked me to share a monthly dessert that was delicious and healthy. When I heard that I was like, CHALLENGE ACCEPTED! So let’s talk dessert.
One of my favorite ways to enjoy a low-calorie dessert is baking fruit. During the winter months there is almost nothing better than a warm treat at the end of a long, cold day. By using naturally sweet fruit as the main ingredient, you can use less sugar without sacrificing your sweet tooth. For this recipe I used blueberries, but you could use almost any type of fresh fruit combination. Cherries would be awesome. Or even blackberries. Wait…or how about a combination of all three. Now we’re cooking!
My recipe is a little different from your traditional crumble/crisp because I chose to make this gluten-free. My husband needs to be on a gluten-free diet and making a dessert that he can’t partake in, is well…not good for your marriage! π But don’t worry! If you are not into gluten-free, you can still make this low-calorie treat. Simply substitute with all-purpose flour and regular oats, which you probably already have on hand.
This Blueberry Crumble has a nice combination of sweet with a little crunch from the oats. A little frozen yogurt or ice cream on top is the perfect way to complete the low 288 calorie per serving treat.
