After a long, hard, way too cold winter, I’m seriously ready for spring. I miss my flip flops! But, I’m seeing warm weather continue, so I’m hopeful that it’s here for good. So, to celebrate, I’m sharing five easy outdoor DIY ideas that have me itching to get out and do more projects to get my outdoor spaces in order for some grillin’ and chillin’.
Outdoor solar lights are so handy, yet don’t look very nice. My concrete pillar version puts a cool spin on the outdoor staple.
Want another solar light idea? This upcycled version takes less than five minutes!
Outdoor rugs add so much to decorating your space, but they’re SO expensive for something that will get wrecked in just a couple of years. My DIY painted rug will set you back only $20!
Flower boxes add so much to a outdoor space, and my easy version are so, so cheap to build.
Speaking of flowers…. my mason jar flower box is the perfect way to decorate with flowers for almost any space.

I LOVE your hanging solar light idea. And that rug…. what a great way to save money on expensive outdoor rugs. Thanks for the great ideas!

Love the rug idea! We have a plain gray rug on our back porch; I’ve been looking for something to add color to the gray. Your diy rug would be perfect!

Love the rug idea! However, I live in Ohio and do not have an enclosed deck and it rains. Sometimes a lot. What would you suggest to keep a rug outside, for a rainy season, and not have to take furniture off, fold up, and bring in every night/day it rains?

Mine gets a wet a lot because it’s on the corner of the porch, so it gets a lot of rain. It’s held up pretty well for a year and a half – and part of that was on our completely open deck. Hope that helps!
