Did you see the Red Letter Words giveaway? Amongst the entries was a question: Hey – that’s a great question!I don’t know why it never occurred to me to talk about this – but here we go.
Do you see that darker line running between the bottom of the TV and the table, right in the middle? That is where the old wall stopped. We built in on each side of the doorway, bringing it from a 10 ft. opening to a 6 ft. opening – adding about 3 ft. on each side. We knew we wanted a hanging flat screen, so the purchase was made when we were remodeling the kitchen. There’s a hole in the wall behind the tv, the wires then go down through the wall into this cabinet:Mr. SCC built the cabinet specifically to hold our TV box thingie, the printer, TV, etc. All the junk that we need to have, but I didn’t want to look at. Yeah, it’s a mess in there! And, it’s not even painted inside. We keep it closed 90% of the time, unless we’re watching a ton of DiNozzo, in case it needs to be open for extra ventilation for the TV box to breathe. But, because I’m keeping it real, I didn’t even try to clean it up. Don’t judge me 🙂
Without even so much as a Scooby Snack, I’ve solved the mystery of the floating TV. Got other questions? I’d love to hear…errr… read them! It might even give me something to blog about!
Want to see more messes? Check out Just Drink A Coke for a reality party
And, if you haven’t entered the Red Letter Words Giveaway – scoot on down and do that, too!

That’s what we did too! T drilled a hole in the wall and ours opens up inside the media console (the one I am still bitter over). A great solution! I love your cabinet!

Gina,
I love that box. Mr. SCC did a fantastic job! It’s the perfect thing to hide all of that in. I, too, have a cabinet that’s filled with that kind of stuff. It’s one of those secrets that you never tell anybody…lol:) Oops, I guess the word is out now. Anyways, thanks for linking to my Reality Collection and living the real life. You’re a great bloggy friend!

If you have a very talented and sweet hubby he can add a power receptacle and cable jack on the wall behind the television. That is what my husband did! No wires hanging down the wall. I do love the cabinet! Great idea!

I wanted to make a suggestion for anyone who can’t run the cords in their wall. We recently mounted our flat screen on the wall and purchased some tubing stuff at Lowe’s which sticks to the wall and the cords run inside it. You then paint it to match your wall and it looks GREAT! It cost about $20 but we have enough to still do our TV in the bedroom and possibly hide the computer wires in the office. PS if you want to look for it at Lowe’s it was located by all the cable wires and that type stuff. And for you ladies like me, that stuff is over by the lamps (in my Lowes anyway)!
