Old cribs are one of those things that make great keepsakes if you have the room for them. Unfortunately, most people can’t justify the space they take up, so they sell or donate them once they’ve been outgrown. There is another option, though – you can repurpose old cribs. Take a look at how some upcycling geniuses have been turning old cribs into other amazing pieces.
Little Vintage Nest made a couch out of an old crib in one of the most amazing transformations I’ve ever seen.
My Repurposed Life turned this old crib into a storage toy bench. I love this idea because it stays with the child as he or she grows!
Here’s another great idea that keeps the crib with the child. How adorable is this crib converted to a kids art station and desk I found on The Thrifty Couple?
What do you think about this crib spring turned into a message board I came across at Kammy’s Korner?
How cool is this crib spring used to hang candle holders I found on Itsy Bits and Pieces?
Crib rails make a nice DIY Chore & Behavior System over on Dawn Nicole Designs.
At Cottage Instincts, Fall decor gets a major upgrade from a crib rail!
I know a few little girls that would absolutely love this crib rail repurposed into a bookshelf made by Freckles ‘n’ Family.
This is my favorite repurposed crib idea of them all. This crib got a new life as a porch swing on Sustain A Blog! Isn’t it gorgeous?
As you can see, there are plenty of great reasons for keeping that crib around long after the babies have outgrown it – especially if it’s beyond repair to have for the next baby.
Are you inspired to repurpose your own crib now? Which one of these is your favorite?
Great timing for this post! My son moved into his big boy bed and selling hasn’t happened. So, I was thinking of doing a daybed for our screened in porch. The swing ideas is great but I don’t have that I don’t know if mine can handle it. We had an old crib that I took the springs from and spray painted to hold my daughter’s bows and head bands. It’s perfect!
Awesome Megan!!
I loved all 3 I do not have little ones any longer but Garage Sales Here I come
Have fun Nancy!
This idea of turning crib into another project is really smart. Your money don’t go to waste because instead of keeping the crib, you can actually make it into something useful like a bench or study table. This will bring good news to all DIY lovers out there.
Thanks so much!
Love the repurposed cribs, especially the white iron one it was gorgeous. I also liked the one made into a storage bin, very practical and useful at the same time.
Thanks Sandra, I love them all 🙂
I have to side rails from an old crib that I’ve been struggling to find how to repurpose. Thanks for the great ideas and inspiration!
Yea!! That is awesome, have fun creating 🙂
