A pink girl’s bedroom

It’s amazing what a house full of bloggers can do together in only 3 days! I hosted my friends for a weekend of fun & DIY – redoing both my girls’ bedrooms in less than 72 hours. Today’s room reveal is for my baby girl, Bre.

Little Girls Room Bre is my girly girl. She loves all things pink & pretty, but at 12 years old, she needed a space that would grow with her through her teen years. Our goal was to create lots of storage, and to keep the furniture somewhat simple, so that in a few years all that she would need to change are the curtains, bedding and a few accessories and she’d have a whole new look.

Headboard Wall She had a few requests, chalkboards, corkboards, and message boards. Lisa helped her out by creating the perfect headboard wall. Check out her blog to learn more about it.

Ruffled curtains Cha Cha made her the most adorable curtains! Layers of ruffles in aqua, pink & white, they tied everything together so well. Cha Cha is talking about them on her blog today at The Heartfelt Home.

Built In Shelves for Kids Bre and I didn’t always see eye to eye on the design in the beginning. I knew she needed built in cabinets to make her room function and create enough storage to hold all her stuff (she’s gotta lotta stuff for such a little girl!)

We repurposed her desk, building the cabinets around it, after giving the desk a coat of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Paris Grey. The shelves were designed to specifically hold her doll house, and to see more about that then check out Leslie’s blog.

Kite as Art Art was a breeze in this room, Bre had this beautiful kite that we hung on the wall. Lala painted to piece above her desk. No prepackaged art – yay!

kids room bench A little girls needs a little bench, right? I created one just for my baby, and Angie will tell you all about it.

pink pillows

And last, but certainly not least, there’s the pillows & bedding. The bedding is from Kohl’s, in the perfect shades of pink & aqua. Polly will tell you more about the pillows today, and Lisa will show y’all the monogrammed ones tomorrow.

girls room So there you have it! A girly girl room created by some of my closest girl friends.

I’d like to thank Dutch Boy for the paint – they provided Pink Fantasies & Whipped White for this room. All of the trim, cabinets & night stands were all painted white, while the walls were decked out in a pretty pink.

See ya tomorrow for Transformation Thursday & Lala’s room reveal!

What a fun color scheme! It makes the room a little more “grown up” while still keeping it young.
