We’ve all been there. That scary second when you are savoring the golden moment of silence during an overwhelming mommy kinda day, then it hits you. They’re too quiet. For me, (when my girls were young), it typically meant that they were getting into something. And that something had to do with putting stickers on every stinkin’ thing they could cover them with for the most part. What is it about kids and stickers? And they always seem to put them in the worst. possible. places. Yeah, I know – in the grand scheme of things, getting stickers off the wall (or the furniture or the fifty bajillion other places they find to put them) isn’t that important. But seriously – who wants Cars stickers on their kitchen wall. Ummm… no thanks. After you find said stickers and take a breath so deep that your lungs will explode, then you’ve gotta find a way to get them off without ripping the drywall behind it or leaving a sticky mess behind. But, thanks to an adventurous little boy that lurks around these parts, I had the opportunity to test out an idea. And it worked. Don’t ya love it when that happens? After Brady left me the pleasure of finding his favorite characters plastered on my wall, I pulled out my Heat Pro Deluxe II heat gun from Homeright* and gave them a quick blast for about 5 seconds on medium heat – moving it similar to blow drying your hair. I didn’t want to damage the paint (because you can use this same tool to remove paint without chemicals) but I did want to loosen up the glue on the back.
I know there’s tons of ways to remove stickers, but this one is so fast – and it’s mess free. Because seriously… who wants to clean up greasy cleaner off your walls after getting off stickers? That can be more frustrating that the stickers themselves!
