A few days ago I shared how to quickly and easily create chalkboard art with Chalk Couture – and since then I’ve gotten tons of questions from lots of readers about selling Chalk Couture as a business. If there’s anything I love more than making my world a bit prettier – it’s empowering others to live the life of their dreams. So if you want to start a Chalk Couture business, then this post is for you!
If you’re not sure what Chalk Couture is, then be sure to check out this post which tells you all about it. Starting a Chalk Couture business is so simple, surprisingly cheap for an upstart, and can be done in minutes.
Selling Chalk Couture 101
To get started, you’ll need a starter kit. It’s $99, and worth over $230.
Currently included in the starter kit is….
- Have Courage
- Established Wreath
- Ask Me How
- Explore More
- Farm Sweet Farm
- Vision Board
- Club Couture Chalk Transfer (more on this in a second)
- Aiden 9″x12″ Chalkboard in White
- Boutique Board 10″ round
- Chalk Couture Apron
- Chalk Couture Thank You Cards
- Angled Squeegee Small Squeegee
Besides the Chalk Couture starter kit – what other fees are involved?
Once you’ve all signed up to start selling Chalk Couture and ordered your starter kit – you’re considered an independent designer. All Designers have their own website, hosted on Chalk Couture – and the fee to run that site is $19.99 a month (but it’s 100% maintenance free!)
To offset this cost, you get a free transfer each month as part of the Chalk Couture Monthly club.
That’s it. $99 to start + $19.99 a month to run your site (and your first month’s site fee is FREE!)
What are the perks of selling Chalk Couture?
First, you get 40% off on all you order. You can order inventory to sell in shops or do local make and takes (that you can charge for!) – or just stock up for yourself.
You get 25% of all online orders – which makes it super easy because you don’t have to pack or ship anything… just sell the products online and it’s SO easy!
If you begin building a team below you, you’ll also earn from their sales, too!
You also get to be part of an amazing creative community that’s pretty awesome!
If for any reason you decide you don’t want to be a designer – no problem! It’s easy to close your shop with no hard feelings at all!
Additional from me: Constant Support to Grow Your Business!
Since many of the designers under me have never sold anything online, I’m here for you. All designers who sign up with me are invited to be part of a private Facebook Group where I teach you how to grow your Chalk Couture business from the ground up (and as an online entrepreneur for over 10 years – I’ve got the tools you need!)
I often get asked: Do I have to be pushy sales person? Nope! I’m not going to push you at all – I’ll give you the tools, but I know everyone wants to run their business differently.
You may want to sign up only to get the discount so you can create signs & handmade goods to sell at craft fairs or shops (YES! You can do that!!)
You may be a hard core crafter who fell in love with the product (because it’s very addictive!) and want to get it cheaper.
It’s totally up to you!
You may want to build a crazy big team of designers. But maybe you don’t know how to train them. I’ll support you. I’ll hold your hand and train your people, too! The more designers you have under you, the more money you’ll make – so it’s the best way to grow a big business!
