Slow Cooker Cranberry Spice Mulled Punch

Happy November my Shabby Creek friends! It’s me Claire from A Little CLAIREification and I can’t believe we have just a little over two weeks until Thanksgiving.  Are you hosting guests this year or are you maybe traveling to see family or friends?

Cranberry Spice Mulled PunchEither way, this Slow Cooker Cranberry Spice Mulled Punch is delicious and it’s going to make your home smell amazing for the holidays.  It’s so simple to make and then you can “set it and forget it”.

Easy and Spiked Slow cooker Cranberry Mulled Cider

I am all about fall spice scented candles and cinnamon infused pinecones or anything like that but nothing can come close to mulling spices in a crock pot.  Your guests will feel right at home and it’s like the holidays have truly begun.

Easy and Spiked Slow cooker Cranberry Mulled Cider

This recipe is non-alcoholic so the whole family can warm their bellies.  You can always add something a little stronger if you’d like to make this more of an adult beverage, of course.  Bourbon or cognac would pair wonderfully in this case.

Adding a little cinnamon sugar to the rim, a couple of cranberries and an orange peel makes the presentation look just as lovely as this punch tastes.  The recipe is below – I hope you enjoy it!

I’ll be back again next month (December – wow!) with another delicious holiday slow cooker recipe. Until then, I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving and that you will pop over and say hello!

Ingredients

2 oranges
1 32 ounce bottle cranberry juice
1 32 ounce bottle white grape juice
1 cup whole fresh cranberries, plus more for garnish
4 cinnamon sticks
8 whole cloves
1 tsp ground Allspice
1/2 cup white sugar (for rim)
1-2 tbsp ground cinnamon (for rim)

Directions
Using a peeler or a sharp paring knife, carefully peel the oranges creating inch wide strips avoiding the white pulp.
Slice both oranges in half and squeeze the juice from into the slow cooker making sure to catch any seeds.
Discard the orange halves.
Add the orange peel to the slow cooker along with the rest of the ingredients except the cinnamon and sugar.
Cook on LOW heat for at least 4 hours (or HIGH heat for 2 hours).
Using a strainer, remove the cloves (or just avoid them when serving)
If desired, when ready to serve combine the sugar and cinnamon in a shallow bowl.
Dip the rim of each glass in a little water and then dip into the cinnamon sugar mixture creating a cinnamon rim on each glass.
Carefully ladle the punch into the glasses, avoiding the rim.
Add one of the orange peel pieces and 2-3 cranberries to each glass for a beautiful presentation. (I used uncooked cranberries for garnish)

Hi, I wondered what you would recommend using instead of Oranges? My son is allergic to them but I’d like to try this recipe in a way that he can partake.
    thanks!

      Hi Lyssa –
I would just eliminate the orange and would recommend throwing in some apple slices – just slice an apple up and throw it in the slow cooker. It’s really hard to go wrong with this recipe – it’s very flavorful so you can substitute if needed.
Hope that helps and have a great holiday!
