Snowman S’mores

Hi Shabby Creek Readers! Laura back again from Left on Peninsula Road with Snowman S’mores.  With holiday and winter treats gracing blogs and magazine pages everywhere, I was reminded of this fun Marshmallow Snowman I first put together last winter. He’s guaranteed to leave you wanting s’more!

Snowman smores - what a fun idea for the kids!

These Snowman S’mores make a great make-ahead treat for your next sledding party or keep the simple ingredients on hand for a special “snow day” activity.

Snowman S’mores

Supplies:

  • Large Marshmallows
  • Chocolate Chips
    Graham Crackers
  • Pretzel Sticks (Arms)
  • Candy Corn or Orange Candy Melts (Snowman Noses)

You’ll also need a microwave oven and microwave-safe plate.

Make Your Marshmallow Snowman S’mores

To make the standing snowman, start with a full-size graham cracker. Cut two marshmallows in half. Place three halves on the graham cracker sticky-side down. Microwave until the marshmallows puff. (Watch very carefully. In our 1100-watt microwave, it took about 12-13 seconds.) Add broken pretzel sticks for arms. Chocolate chips make up the eyes and buttons, and I used a sliver of orange candy melt for the nose. Set aside to cool, if you can resist the gooey goodness:)

To make the snowman face, place remaining marshmallow half, cut-side down on a graham cracker square. Microwave until the marshmallow puffs. I put these in slightly longer to get a nice round snowman face (maybe 14 seconds in our microwave). Add a piece of candy corn for the nose and a couple chocolate chips for the eyes.

Store in a single layer in a covered container. I’ve had success making them a day ahead if serving a crowd.

Enjoy those snow days by curling up with a movie or sledding or skating party and serve up a tray of Snowman S’mores alongside a toasty hot cocoa bar.

Enjoy!
