So you wanna grow your email list? Don’t we all! Subscribers are the people who have connected with you directly, which gives you an opportunity to build trust and loyalty.
I was frustrated with the lack of knowledge I had on how to really make an impact. I mean, I get a million hits a month – but my subscriber conversion rate was pitiful.
What’s a girl to do? Research. Lots and lots of research. And with all those hours of dissecting how the biggest names in business converted their readers into subscribers, I saw a pattern – which became my formula for growing my email faster than ever before.
The problem with pop-ups
For a few years now, the go-to solution for growing your email list was to install pop-ups to lure subscribers. Over time, readers are now numb to them, usually clicking off before they’ve even read what you’re offering.
Add to that, the fact that Google started docking sites for using them on mobile – which means literally half of your audience can’t even see them.
So, why not social media?
I love Facebook. I truly do. I love groups, I love my page community – it’s an amazing place for a tribe to gather.
Pinterest touts itself as a search engine now, so the days of it being “social” are over.
You can grow massive following on these (and other) platforms – but you will never have complete control over them. When you put all your energy into a platform you do not own, when they decide to change their algorithms – and they will – you can be left out in the cold.
Email lists are a direct link to your readers. No one can take it away – and there is no algorithm to email marketing.
Every time a reader stumbles upon your site, you have an opportunity to create a lasting connection with that person. You goal should be to make an impact that will entice them to subscribe – with great incentives and great lead ads to promote those incentives.
Since the internet is all about visual connections – your email incentives and lead ads have to be on point.

What programs will the course require?
For training purposes, I’ll be using Photoshop Elements 15 to build the graphics and ConvertKit to build lead pages. You’ll benefit the most with these programs – however the techniques can be applied to any software.
