Dreamy Upholstered Headboards on a Budget

All of my life, I’ve always wanted a guest room. I had to share a bedroom growing up, so there definitely wasn’t room there. And raising four kids meant we never had room to have one when I became a grown up. Until now. We only have one {not so} tiny human left at home, so we finally have a space that we could turn into a guest room. It’s possibly the most “adult” I’ve ever felt. Maybe it’s because I can finally invite friends or family from out of town to stay with us without breaking out the air mattress or having someone sleep on the couch. Maybe it’s because I have this space that’s beautiful and for the most part it stays that way (as the room isn’t frequently used.) Either way, it’s been a lot of fun to decorate a room that is more about form than function. As long as it’s inviting, comfortable and gives my loved ones a place to feel at home for a few days – then it’s done its job.

So many great options for upholstered headboards - and they're all under $200

As much as I love decorating, I definitely didn’t want to break the bank on this space. So a little shopping at Homegoods, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Target and Ikea were all in order. Other than the upholstered headboard, I think I spent around $200 total.

Decorative accessories are fairly easy to find on a budget – like this clearance lamp for $15, the print (already framed) on clearance for $5, the potted plant & pot from Ikea were $5 total and the little alarm clock was $6 on clearance. Useful, beautiful and cheap. My trifecta of decor goodness right there.

The headboard was a bit harder to nail down though. After a lot of digging I finally ended up with this upholstered headboard from Wayfair. Since I spent so much time scouring the internets for mine, I thought I’d share a few of my favorites below.

Which one is your favorite? It’s a hard choice between tufted, the nailhead detail or more straight lined. Decisions… decisions!

I love your site but it’s almost impossible to use on mobile due to the extensive number of ads in the content and popping up over the content. It’s too bad.

I love your comforter/sheets. Where did you get it? I’ve been looking for something similar to that.

They’re all very nice. I think I like 13 or 20 the best!
