About two years ago we finally finished the studio. And since it was finished, I’ve had about 11 billion questions about how to make my wire mesh memo board (ok, not really that many… but a crap ton fo’sho.)
A couple of weeks ago when I shared the library ladder tutorial, I got even more questions… but I had also needed a third wire mesh memo board to fill up the wall – SO I FINALLY RECORDED THE TUTORIAL (can you hear all the DIY angels singing?!?)
Wire Mesh Memo Board Supplies
*the following supply links may earn me a bit of money to keep me stocked in spray paint*
- Concrete Remesh Sheet
- Small Angle Grinder
- Metal Cutoff Discs (you’ll need at least 3-4)
- Spray Paint
- Safety Glasses
- Safety Gloves
While this project isn’t hard – it’s not truly fast, either. While I can tell you “just grind off the metal bits” – that part alone will take you well over an hour.
With that said… if you already have an angle grinder, then this project is pretty cheap. The wire mesh boards retail at well over $50 each, and since the remesh is under $10 a sheet, add in some spray paint and you can easily do it for under $15.

Gina, what do you use to clip things to your memo board? Do you not need a spacer behind the wire to give space like a pegboard? I’ve been using an old crib spring from my kids, but love the look of this as well.
