Ingredients

For the Filling

  • 4 cups of fresh peaches peeled, de-seeded & diced (or you could use 4 cups of canned diced peaches - but fresh is best)
  • 1/2 cup sugar

For the Crust

  • 1 cup of all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup butter milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Topping

  • 2 TBS butter cut into small slices
  • 1/4 cup sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a 10 inch skillet that has been buttered, put in the filling mixture and mix together, then set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, put in all of the crust ingredients, then whisk until smooth. Pour mixture over the peach filling in the skillet, then top with slices of butter scattered on top and sprinkle the whole top with the topping sugar.
  3. Bake for 1 hour, or until top just barely starts to brown.
