Welcome once again to Transformation Thursday! It's the one day of the week we all get together to celebrate getting stuff done. No matter if your project is large or small, if this is your first time or you've been strutting your stuff for months, everyone is welcome to join in with the linky below.
As an avid reader, I've always got stacks and stacks of books sitting around. Big ones, small ones, some the size of your head..... oh, wait. I've stumbled off track again. Anyways... my love for books extends much beyond the written words. I love the colors of the spines. I love their titles. Can you tell I've been a writer for a long time? :) Using books for decorating is a favorite trick of mine. Lamps too short? Throw some books under them.
Don't like the covers? Wrap them in burlap, brown paper, even scrapbook paper is a great way to make them fit into your decor. So... next time you're falling a little short - get some book smarts!

Sooooo whatcha got? I wanna see and so does everybody else! Please put your PERMALINK to your post, and link back here so everyone can see. DO NOT link to an Etsy shop, online store, etc. or I will delete your post (please don't make me be a big meanie!) Make sure to visit your TT neighbors so everyone gets a little love.
Welll.... let'er rip, tater chip!

I love books, but sometimes forget to take them off the book shelf and use them for other things besides reading. Thanks for reminding me and for hosting every week.
ReplyDeleteI love this tip! I used some books to add some height to a small birdcage I found at Salvation Army. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting Transformation Thursday's...I grabbed your button and am participating.
ReplyDeleteI loved the idea of cover books with scrapbook paper!! I'm gonna have to try that idea=)
I did this just the other day! I have a tiny little lamp on my bedside table that I found at Joann's on clearance for $3.99 (for real!) and I needed just a bit taller. My bedroom looks like a library so it was no hard thing to figure out what to use to give it some height. ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting Gina!!!

Hello Ms. Gina, I will definitely try to stack some books, love the way it looks and God knows how many books I have. Thank you for the idea, it's so simple but sometimes it's the simple things we just can't think of.
