Taking care of yourself {and a giveaway!}

If you're anything like me, you've been using the same skin care products for years and years (or... ummmm... maybe a couple of, dare I say, decades.) Just the thought of trying something new is a little daunting. Once I got past the idea of forsaking my long-time favorite brand and tried something new, I realized rather quickly that change may not be such a bad thing after all.

As moms, we’re notorious for taking care of everyone else first. Between shuttling kids back and forth here and there, making sure breakfast, lunch and dinner are accounted for, cleaning the house, and checking homework, the list goes on and on. We always put ourselves last. However, as a mom, I’ve learned that I really need to show my girls that putting me first is a good thing. I need to be taken care of to ensure that they are well taken care of, and skin care is at the top of that list for me. I want them to learn good lifelong habits so they learn to take care of themselves, as well.

When I was asked to try Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser and Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF 15, I was a little skeptical. I mean, I am that girl with her tried and trusted department store brand that I’ve been using forever and ever. But, I thought maybe it was time to try something new. I mean… I’m not getting any younger. And the stuff I used as a teen may not be the best thing for my age now. So, I decided to give it a try – and I’ve gotta admit, I was really impressed!

It was a big change, I went from being a “bar” girl to this liquid in a pump bottle. I went from feeling like all of the oil was washed away, to feeling like it’s clean, but still moisturized and even a bit smoother.

I’m always game to try a new rug or throw pillow… but skin care was almost robotic for me. I didn’t think, I didn’t change, it was just what I did. It’s not any harder than before, but I love the new results. I’m so glad I stepped away from the bar and tried something new!
