It almost feels like cheating when I tell y’all about a “recipe” that only has three ingredients. But those seem to be your favorite kind. Quick, easy and delicious. It’s like the recipe trifecta, especially around the holidays. So when I thought of this bark while I was driving down the road (singing at the top of my lungs, of course), I was absolutely sure that someone, some where had to have created Candy Cane Brownie Bark. Yet when I tried to find it on Pinterest, I got nothing. So I did it. Yeah, I did. I put together three of my very favorite sweets: White Chocolate, Brownies and Candy Canes. And it comes together in a snap. If you can boil water you can make this recipe.
Candy Cane Brownie Bark Recipe
Ingredients:
- 20 oz. (5 pks) of Baker’s White Chocolate – finely chopped
- 2 cups of brownies cut in 1/4 inch(ish) cubes [I won’t tell anyone if you buy them at the bakery]
- 1/2 cup of crushed candy canes
Directions:
MELT 3 packages (12 oz) of the chocolate in a double boiler (that’s just fancy speak for a glass or metal bowl over a pot of water – don’t let the water touch the bowl.)
SPREAD the chocolate on a sheet pan, non-stick foil is awesome, but not necessary. Make the layer kinda thin, but it won’t completely cover a 1/2 sheet pan.
SCATTER the brownies all over the chocolate. Resist the temptation to sneak a brownie nibble. Or don’t. I won’t tell anyone. (PS – it takes about 1/2 a pan if you make them from a mix – just in case you like leftovers or something.)
MELT the other two packages (8 oz) of chocolate in the double boiler again. If you melt it all at once you’ll make a bigger mess. Trust me on this.
DRIZZLE the second batch of chocolate over the brownies that are now swimming in a sea of white chocolate. yum.
SPRINKLE the crushed candy canes on top.
SET ASIDE and let completely harden before cutting into pieces. It will take 2-3 hours at room temp or 10 mins in the fridge. If you put it in the fridge, let it sit out a few minutes before cutting to keep it from shattering into a million tiny pieces.
SHARE – or not. It’s your bark and you can eat it allllll by yourselffffff.
But if you do share, you’ll make new BBFs for life. Just sayin’.
Candy Cane Brownie Bark. I think this may be the best idea I’ve had in a long time, my friends.
