Harry Potter Halloween Mantle

Harry Potter Halloween Mantle via The Shabby Creek Cottage
Loving your home is more than just about decorating it beautifully. The most important thing about home is that it’s where you live together, love together, and make memories to last a lifetime.

If you’ve ever had any contact with me at all, you’ll know that my love for my husband and kids is overflowing. Any chance I get, I try to sneak in things that make them happy – even if they didn’t know they wanted it.

As major “Potterheads,” they love all things Harry. Although I’ve never even seen the movies, let alone read the books, they can quote stuff out of them for hours upon end.

So when it came time for me to create a Halloween mantle, I knew just what I was going to do.

Will it catch the eye of magazine editors everywhere? Probably not. But that wasn’t the point. I’d rather catch the eyes of my two giggling teen girls much more.

Making my family love where they live is an every day goal for me. Well… as long as it doesn’t mean crunching my toes on Legos…. ya gotta draw the line somewhere 🙂

“Making my family love where they live” THAT is the essence of true decorating for the home… I love that quote!

Oh I think you could be featured in a magazine, it looks wonderful! I don’t know Harry Potter either, so I don’t understand some of the decor, but I’ll bet they love it! Just too cute.

Wonderful!! I so agree with you, a home should be a shelter filled with love and laughter, with each family member helping to create an environment that allows everyone to be happy. It is the “little things”, the unexpected effort, the extra gesture that speaks loudest of love. You have a blessed family!!

Cute decorations! But geez, you haven’t read or watched Harry Potter? They’re some of the most incredible books I’ve ever read and I loved talking about them with my daughter.

We’re throwing a Harry Potter inspired Halloween party this year so this mantel is amazing! I’ve pinned it for inspiration (with credit to your blog, of course). Thanks for sharing it.
