An aqua lover such as myself should definitely have a signature aqua cocktail, and this is mine. Since we’re in the middle of Wedding Week around here, I thought this might be the perfect time to share my Moonlight Margarita Recipe. It’s a simple twist on the classic cocktail, and I’ve been making them for years and years. This drink is perfect served on the rocks or as a frozen drink, and this margarita recipe can also be made by the glass or by the pitcher (I’m sharing measurements for both!) So, stay a spell and have a drink on the house…
Moonlight Margarita Recipe
This is a classic margarita recipe that uses store bought margarita mix – so choose to make it by the glass or by the pitcher
By the Glass
- .5 oz blue curaçao
- 1.5 oz tequila (I like Jose Cuervo Gold)
- 3 oz. margarita mix
By the Pitcher
- 1 cup blue curaçao
- 2 cups tequila
- 4 cups margarita mix
Directions:
Mix together ingredients, and pour over a glass of ice. Salt or sugar can be added to the rim if desired. If you prefer frozen drinks, pour it in a blender and mix until smooth. Either way, it’s delicious and tastes as good as it looks.

This drink would be perfect for weddings or parties, especially those with an aqua scheme. Because you can make pitchers earlier in the day, it’s a great choice for a signature cocktail at a party. Whip up a few batches and keep them cold until you’re ready to serve, then pour over ice and enjoy. I like serving them in jars, but you could totally be all fancy and stuff if you wanted.
