Please, please, please tell me I’m not the only person left out there with a pile of presents left to wrap??? All my shopping is done, but wrapping seems to take as long as shopping. Every year I try to come up with a big, pretty bow to make my little gifts pretty on the outside, but this year I wanted to make it a little easier on myself.
I started with a big roll of plain white paper, a couple of sheets of glittery cardstock & a few yards of tulle. Yep, the tutu kinda stuff. If you use a coupon at Hobby Lobby, you can get it for around 50 cents a yard – my budget LOVES that! Using just plain scissors and a pen, I made my “monograms” on the backside of my cardstock then cut out with scissors {be sure to draw them out in reverse since you’re working from the backside}. Yes, I have a craft cutter, but this was actually easier than pulling it out. Just draw & clip. Super easy stuff! To attach, I just used a hole punch to string them through.
After I wrapped my gifts in plain white paper, I used tulle for the ribbon and bows. Who knew there were so many colors of this stuff? Of course, I went with aqua. Go figure :)
I clipped off three 2-3 inch pieces. No worries if the cuts aren’t straight, once you pull it around the box no one will ever know! I used two strips around the box like ribbon, threading the monogram tag on one strand, then tied a knot.
After I cut the 3rd strip into a few pieces (maybe 6?) I tied them up into the middle of the knot.
I pulled it all up together like a tulle pony tail and gave it a quick trim. Fluff & go.
Glittery & whispy and just tutu cute. Even a box of socks looks prettier :)
So how’s your wrapping going? If you’re done then come on over my way…

Very nice job! Sidenote: despite my obsession with paper and office supplies, I canNOT wrap a gift to save my life.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I haven't wrapped gifts yet. In fact I had forgotten that I needed to wrap until a few days ago when I was congratulating myself that everything seemed to be going along on schedule and suddenly I remembered the packages.
ReplyDeleteI love the tulle bow and the glitter letter! What a cute idea!
