How to flip images {the easy way}

how to invert images in paint I use a lot of iron on transfers for projects here as well as the ones I do over on Graphics Fairy DIY. I often get emails and questions about the easiest way to flip an image – and it’s so easy that you probably already know how… but I thought I’d share just in case.

how to invert images for transfers It’s seriously one step – dead simple – and you can do it in about 3 seconds. First open your image in Paint. I use Paint a lot because it’s free…. I like free.

how to invert an image Then click the little split triangle box, the one next to my big, red arrow. It will give you a drop down box, choose FLIP HORIZONTAL.

easy way to invert images Save your image and you’re done! See, I told you it was easy :) Sometimes in our
“make everything more difficult” world, we tend to overlook the simple things.

Now go forth and transfer!

  7. Thanks Gina.

  8. I am going to try this, usually I just flip it when I am printing it out by clicking on t-shirt transfer in the printer options but it prints pretty slow.

  9. Would you happen be willing to post the link for Paint…I do not have it on my computer and when I went to download it I keep finding it only with other software I do not want. Cannot wait to give this a try. What I do now is about 10x’s longer then this…cannot wait to give it a try.
    Thanks Carol

  10. Thanks, Gina. So simple, but if ya don’t know how…….well, it’s not. 8-)

  11. THanks so much, I haven’t figured out how to flip the words on my printer, looked at book but no savy. I’ll love to have that link to Paint myself without alot of other stuff don’t want. You are a peach for educating us. Made me feel better to see other people didn’t know how either. I have an HP Photosmart D110, most likely there’s a very simple way to reverse words but I’ve yet to understand it. DUH, LOL!

  12. It sounds so simple – maybe i can figure it out so far I have gone a long way around to get to my nose! Thanks!

  13. OK, check out my time. I left my comment above, went to Graphics Fairy to download the hand holding the ad for rubber stamps. Opened my Microsoft Word, chose to insert a picture from a file, finally found that teeny little symbol, reversed it AND put a black frame around it, printed out a copy, closed down Word, left Graphics Fairy, came back here to post HOW EASY THIS IS! I am screaming with joy!!!

  14. This couldn’t have been more timely! I wanted to use a Graphics Fairy graphic on a totebag for a friend’s b-day present, but had no idea how to flip it. Thanks, Gina!
