Ever wondered what to do with that log slice you saw at the craft store? Janel at NellieBellie had a great idea on how to use one! It’s a great way to repurposed things you might have on hand into a cool plant stand (or it could be used as a side table, too!) No matter how you use it, this log slice project is seriously awesome.
How to build a log slice table
You’ll need:
- small metal bar stool
- log slice
- wood screws
The Details:
The details are what takes this from a stool with a log slice on it to a gorgeous plant table!
1. Tape off your legs at the point you want your gold-legs to end.
2. Apply the gold to the legs for the dipped effect. (I used Rub n Buff in antique gold)
3. Remove the tape.
4. Stain the top of your log-slice. (this is optional. I think it gives it a more finished look)
5. Finish the top with finishing wax (tip…coconut oil works for this purpose as well!)

A quick peek/close-up of the top of the table with the stain and wax finish. It looks wonderful! Even if you choose not to do color blocked legs, you could paint them a solid color or leave as is for a more rustic look.
When everything is said and done you will have a fabulous plant stand in no time!
