DIY wood countertops

DIY wood countertops

In between working on my bedroom, building a porch & all the other 89 projects I have going on around here, I'm slowly working on sprucing up my kitchen a bit by adding some new DIY wood countertops. When we first remodeled our kitchen nearly 5 years ago, it was our initial decent into major DIY. We'd always fixed things around our own home, but that project was where we cut our teeth on ripping out walls, taking out floors, and even building our own cabinets. Start small? Not us. My secret weapon to paint almost anything

Confession: I'm an impatient DIYer. Which is why I'm usually all about quick and easy projects - I want it done and I want it now. Or yesterday. So when furniture needs a little loving, I ignore it as long as I can, because it's not always easy or quick. Intricate parts can turn a seemingly simple makeover into an afternoon ordeal. Ain't nobody got time for that. So anytime I can figure out how to speed up a process, I'm all about trying it. *this post contains affiliate links* My friends ... continue reading...

Bringing old windows back to life

Unless you know me in real life, you've never seen the outside of my house. There's a seriously good reason for that: until a few days ago it was one hot mess. Like the hottest mess to end all hot messes. It was like Ke$ha multiplied by Amanda Bynes, then topped off with some Lindsay Lohan, and some Miley Cyrus for garnish. Yeah. But, I'm on a mission to make the outside match the inside - and it's finally time to give the outside a major makeover. We're in the process of building all ... continue reading...

How to make easy lined curtains

Easy Lined Curtains

Every time I've shared a little glance at my bedroom makeover progress (like with the chair cushion, yellow table & plank wall) y'all have been all over those easy lined curtains. I know, they're a bit bolder than I normally would choose. I took a risk, and the results kinda speak for themselves. The fabulous fabric is Robert Allen Bamboo Lattice in Pool {whew! that's a mouthful!}. I made them with my basic pattern, which isn't really a pattern at all. It's more of a method, one that you can ... continue reading...

DIY Polka Dot Dishwasher

DIY Polka Dot Dishwasher

Let's face it: Appliances can be boring. Especially the low end versions. Now mind you, I wouldn't mind if someone wanted to drop off a cute Smeg fridge at my house, but that's prolly not going to happen. But, you can make your appliances cute, and it doesn't have to cost a fortune. That's why I decided to add some flair with my DIY polka dot dishwasher. Say goodbye to boring, because this little girl is the queen of the kitchen. And, since it's vinyl, it can be done faster than you can actually ... continue reading...
