Christmas home tour: Winter in the Woods

Welcome to our 2016 Christmas tour! I’m joining a few friends today for the Home for the Holidays blogger tour, so if you’re stopping by from 2 Ladies and a Chair, welcome! And if you’ve been hanging around for a while, I’m so glad you stopped by. Either way – make sure you check out the bottom of this post for a great giveaway!

When I was a little girl, my favorite books were the Little House on the Prairie books. I read them over and over again, especially The Long Winter. Whenever we had a snow day, I’d curl up and read it cover to cover. So that was my inspiration for this year’s tour: winter in the woods.

Winter in the Woods Christmas Tour

Since we love curling up to a good marathon of Hallmark Christmas movies and lots of yummy food, I wanted to add a little coziness.

Winter in the Woods Christmas Tour

And it started with trees – LOTS of trees. I started with a gorgeous tree from King of Christmas and built our own little forrest, right in the comfort of our own living room.

Winter in the Woods Christmas Tour

And of course, all of the fun of winter had to be involved.

And maybe even a disco ball (or two!)

Some trees are flocked and some are not – and I’m not sure which I like more… what about you?

Winter in the Woods Christmas Tour

I tucked them in boxes and baskets and bins…. the more trees the merrier!

I even added a few on our dining room table as the centerpiece.

moss-wreath

Living in the country most of my life, I can tell you that there’s moss everywhere – so it was only natural to add some in.

Since most of our decor was DIY this year, I’ve got a few tutorials coming next week, so stay tuned for a little holiday craftiness headed your way soon!

Winter in the Woods Christmas Tour

Want to win a tree to kick off your own holiday forrest? For our Home for the Holidays Blog Tour, King of Chrismas is kindly giving away one 7 foot flocked unlit tree to one lucky winner. Here is how you enter the giveaway. Each comment (one per blog) qualifies as an entry. So, the more blogs you comment on in our tour the more entries for you. Also, if you subscribe to our blogs each subscription gives you two more entries. This giveaway is for US residents and you must be at least 18 years old. This King of Christmas tree giveaway ends on December 11th at 8:00 pm Pacific Standard Time. The winner will be announced that week.

Sign up for more chances to win the tree on the whole tour….
